Overview
Sam´s VIP Hostel offers accommodation in San Gil, guests can enjoy a rooftop swimming pool with a sauna and a beautiful terrace overlooking the main square. Free Wi-Fi , two kitchens and a parking for motorbikes are available. The location of the hostel is unbeatable, above the BBVA bank and is facing the main park of San Gil. A couple of blocks from the Puente shopping center, one block from the cathedral, one block from the Penélope pizzeria and 6 blocks from the park Gallineral. can also help organize tours and extreme sports. Rooms are equipped with safety deposit boxes, and shared or private bathrooms with showers. Bike rental is available and guests can also make use of the hotel’s board games. At Sams you can book any extreme sports activity, rent motorcycles and bicycles and buy bus tickets. San Gil Bus station is 1 km away.

“Lovely people in San Gil”
Plentiful communal and relaxation spaces on both floors. Tours on offer were the best and we found were best price compared to other people in our groups who booked elsewhere. Really lovely and helpful staff who helped rearrange our activities due to bad weather. Roof top pool is nice area with speaker to use. Great location on main plaza - despite this night time was quiet and we got great night sleep. Hot shower.

“Perfect hostel for exploring San Gil”
The help from Sam was incredible, we did a lot of awesome things that wouldn't have been possible without him. Thank you so much Sam for making our stay unforgettable! The hostel itself is also very nice, location is absolutely perfect, staff is nice, rooms are clean. Would recommend to anyone coming to San Gil.

“Nice stay”
Great location and room was an excellent price. The staff were very friendly and gave us advice for activities for us to do. We booked caving with them. Near a big shopping centre with a cinema.

Nicest and most helpful staff I’ve ever met at a hostel. Activities booked through hostel were great. Spacious bathrooms, kitchen, dining area and balcony. Pool area with view of city. Sauna. Location beside square with everything you need. NICEST STAFF EVER.

Great hostel with good facilities and activities. We liked the balconies on both sides of the hostel, both with nice views, and the pool is a nice feature. The room was really comfortable and spacious. The hostel resells tours from local agencies at a good price or sometimes a discount. It's not the liveliest hostel in town but the vibe suited us well.

Back to the same hostel seven years after, and as cool as the last time, with the perfect location, very clean, and great accommodation (coffee / pool)! The deluxe dorm is really nice and deluxe :) We had a lot of fun with Daniela, one of the receptionist, Amanda is very nice too.

“Just book it! Seriously.”
Everything. Believe the hype, Sam's VIP is a superb hostel. The location is great, right by the main square. The facilities are brilliant, with a rooftop pool that isn't just a puddle. They have wonderfully affordable private rooms. And the staff are fantastic - great communication in advance from Sam (or possibly his AI twin...) over WhatsApp, and lovely, friendly service from everyone while there. Special shout-outs to Daniela and Amanda!

Loved this place .Everyone is super friendly and helpful. May it be booking a tour, or getting any other kind of help one could need. Easy to connect with other travelers. They even organise a free Tejo night each week. From the pool you have a nice view on the Cerro De la Cruz. I ended up staying a week after planning just 3-4. :-)

“A Very Enjoyable Week”
I spent a nice week at this hostel located right on the main square. The staff were amazing - helpful and friendly. The entire hostel was kept very clean the entire time. Pool and sauna were a nice touch. Perfect wifi for my online work - not always a sure thing in Colombia.

Locations is on the main square. Staff are absolutely brilliant. Very friendly and helpful even with our poor Spanish. The Tejo night organised was a lot of fun and brought together travellers from all over the city. They also organised taxis to and from the event for free. Wasn’t very busy while we were there so not super social but I can imagine it would be if full as there are nice areas to hang out.
