“Rockin' budget option for anyone passing through SF”

This place is pretty centrally located. Don't let the location scare you either. There are homeless people around but they are chill. I booked a single room (Janis Joplin), which was cozy. The shower was clear and had good pressure. The bed was big and comfy. I was out and about alot but it was a nice place to return home to. I even managed to get some work done at the little writing desk in my room. Free coffee and tea is also pretty nice. I can't evaluate the events at the venue, because I didn't go to any, but they sounded cool. You can sometimes hear bands practicing when you are in your room, but it never bothered me. I found it kind of soothing actually.

Personally I gave it a high rating because of the theme, the rock n roll displays, the fact I had a guitar and an app to use in my room, rehearsal rooms available....that was awesome!

Nice hostel with a good location. It’s comfortable , simple and efficient. The staff is really nice and the free coffee in the morning is always a bonus :)

“Quite a decent hostel in SF”

Great pods with enough space and small storage areas for items like phone, tooth brush etc. Location is decent, you can still walk to most of the touristic areas but will take a while. Staff is really helpful and nice. You can store your bag for free after check-out.

For the price, great value. It's very quirky - I had a boa and a fully functional electric guitar hanging in my room, which was decorated fully with Stevie Nicks memorabilia. There was a lot of red! It's not really a traditional hotel, it's a community space, there are active musicians around hiring rooms to practice, etc, so book if you're looking for a good price for something a little different.

It’s pretty clean, though the bathrooms are shared. The bedroom was big enough for the two of us, and it had a sink inside.

I was traveling alone for a conference, and I had a hard time finding a safe and affordable place in San Francisco. I'm very happy I ended up choosing the Music City Hotel. I had doubts about the shared bathrooms, but there are several, and the staff takes extreme care of the cleanliness of the place. There's a very nice coffee place nearby, and a Trader Joe's as well. Very easy to get there with public transportation. The capsules are more comfortable than I expected.
