It was a good place to relax after the tiring drive from Palenque. The dorm had only two beds, good alternative to the larger dorms downtown. And with breakfast, it was an overall good value. Great attention and care.

“One of the best bedrooms I’ve stayed in”

Peaceful location, friendly and understanding owner, nice small breakfast to get the day started, hot showers. Honestly the bedroom felt so comfortable, I felt like I was living at someone’s house. So damn cosy. Location is inconvenient but isn’t too far away from the city, you only walk for like 10 minutes away from the centre, and only two minutes in darkness. Some people have exaggerated how bad this location is, it was really a minor inconvenience.

Fernando is a super nice host with a lovely house for only 4 guests. It's beautiful outside the city, 30mins walk to the center. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it everyone who wants a quite space close to the city.

Such a nice place - the light is beautiful, and it's so nice to be close to nature, and wake up seeing the trees outside the window and hearing a lot of bird sounds :) It's a bit far from the center - which is the beauty of the place, but also good to be aware of since the collectivos stop going in the evenings. - I think it was a bit scary to walk home alone in the dark (next time I would probably take a taxi), but in daytime it's nice.

“Awesome little haven in San Cristóbal”

Loved basically mostly everything about the place. Very cozy, it does feel like home. Ideally located just next to the El Encuentro Park, which was amazing for us. The park is great and only 10pesos. For the other birdwatchers: we saw a Guatemalan Flicker, three mountain Trogons and lots of warblers, among others. Also pretty close to the city centre, it takes 40min walk to go to the extreme centre but the town is actually reached before that. Either way, there's public transportation passing through. Or good ol' taxi. Fernando is a very thoughtful, generous and kind person. He takes good care of everything. We really enjoyed our conversations with him 😊. Thanks Fernando! Kitchen is well equipped, it even has an oven. Hot water in the shower is very hot (and easily controlled). Bruce the cat is a cute little bonus. Lots of Grackles and other birds around 💜. Our complaint would be that the private room doesn't feel so private as the walls are very thin and everything can be heard. At around 8pm, our co-living mate hushed us from her room upstairs... We were already whispering and were just laughing basically. So I reckon it depends who you end up with in the house but it did feel a bit like a temple.

“Close to nature and relaxing.”

We loved the how attentive and thoughtful Fernando was. When we had to rise early for a tour, he rose early to have breakfast ready for us. The place is very close to a park (open Wednesday-Sunday). It’s a nice place to walk around, read a book, eat organic food from the cafe. It’s also not far from another park with a grotto of caves. We loved being close to nature and out of the main drag.

“Co-living in a beautiful house surrounded by nature”

It’s a special place, perfect if you seek to unwind from cities and travelling in a small community. It’s a very personal and chilled vibe because there are only three double rooms, so you’re not more than 6 people + Fernando who takes great care of his guests. He’s very helpful and attentive and checks in what kind of bread and drink you prefer for breakfast (it’s generally fruits, sweet or salty bread and coffee - not much but a great start into the day). He lives underneath the house and sometimes friends come over, so again, very friendly atmosphere and more a co-living than a hostel!

“Wowzers”

Fernando is the best host ever. Makes everyone feel at home. It feels like sharing a house with max 5 other people, very different from your usual hostel experience. Also I loved the cat, named Bruce. Also, you're very close to a nice national park. I ended up staying here for 2 weeks 😄

The place is very cozy and Fernando is very friendly. the place is surrounded by trees and there's Bruce a lovely cat that hangs around. Ideal if you want to stay quiet and chill.

“A peaceful and affordable place that can unveil many adventures”

A tranquil environment that's surrounded by nature. The dorm is shared with only one person and there are only a few other rooms so there is plenty of space to find quiet and calmness as you appreciate the garden, fresh air, sounds of the river and the inspired artwork around the property. There are plenty of parks and streets to explore if you like walking and fantastic views. Fernando goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome with breakfast, fresh coffee, being available for questions and conversations, and even helping with rides to town. His openness translates to the guests feeling a friendly ease which made us all comfortable to share meals and converse with each other. Bruce, el gato is also an integral member of the hostel who likes to help keep the dorm guests warm at night!

The place is cozy and near an amazing park. Coziest bed in Mexico! Easy walk or collectivo to town. Fernando also is just a really nice genuine person.

“Best place to stay in San Cristobal!”

The most comfy room in San Cristobal. Nice lighting, comfy bed, cute cat, its warm & a nice breakfast in the mornings. There's a nice little outdoor space to sit & enjoy. It's close to Parque Encuentro yet just 25/30 mins walking to the center.

It's such a lovely, quiet place to land in San Christobal, Fernanado is so kind and offered me a ride to and from the city multiple times. THe dorm is only with one other person and the whole house was such a comfort for the few days i stayed there.

It's a beautiful place in nature that gives you a completely different vibe although you're still rather near to San Cristobal. The owners of the place were super friendly, flexibel and helpful. They came to pick me up and dropped me off super early in the morning and waited there with me until I had left with the shuttle. Truly amazing. In general they really take the time to make your stay pleasant. Im also wishing them all the best with their cool future plans for this unique property.
