Approximately 49 km or (1hr 45mins. drive) east of the capital city of Port of Spain and 31 km or (45mins. drive) east of Piarco Airport. Leatherback Lodge Eco B&B is located in the sleepy village of Matura. Nestled on a quiet country road Leatherback Lodge Eco B&B sits on 5-acres of cultivated mixed fruit trees for guest to pick and enjoy at no extra charge. Coconuts, oranges, portugals and mangoes to name a few. Free parking is available. Continental breakfast is included, with the option of ordering a mouthwatering local breakfast. The Host and Hostess of Leatherback Lodge Eco B&B, Neville and Nella reside on the premises and are there to take care of your needs. Nella is famous for preparing the local mouth-watering Indian and Creole dishes and Neville is great for advising guests on things to do and places to visit while staying at Leatherback Lodge Eco B&B. Each room includes private bathroom/shower with warm water, ceiling and wall fans and a private verandah for sitting out . Includes Bed and Bath linen. Leatherback Lodge Eco B&B is a 15 minute drive to Nature Seekers Leatherback Turtle Tours, which commences on March 1 and ends on August 31 every year. There are rivers, pools and waterfalls for nature lovers to explore via driving and hiking. The nearest beach for swimming is Salybia Beach which is 15 minutes away if driving, along with many other beautiful beaches if you continue driving along the coast. A gazebo, featuring a barbecue area and a 15’ pool (Intex) sits on 1.75 acres of lush greenery. This spot is for relaxing in the hammock on a hot day, while sipping your brew.

“A wonderful stay with excellent hosts”
Nella and Neville are the most welcoming and kind hosts you can imagine. We really enjoyed chatting to them, they are such interesting people. We had a wonderful stay in their lovely guesthouse. It is so comfortable and surrounded by nature. We enjoyed watching the birds from the terrace, walking in the local area, and we had a great trip in the Nariva swamp. Nella made us the most delicious vegetarian meals and breakfasts were great too. Thanks N&N and all good wishes for the future!

“Excellent base for discovering the wildlife of Trinidad”
I'm a wildlife photographer and author and I had an excellent stay at Leatherback Lodge. It's comfortable accommodation with good food in a beautiful location. The owners, Nella and Neville were very helpful giving advice on how to explore the island and arranging trips to see the Leatherback turtles and visit places like Nariva Wetlands and Caroni Swamp. I would definitely recommend it to people looking to enjoy the wildlife of Trinidad.

Neville and Nella are the best hosts you can imagine, they make sure that you are comfortable in every way, every night a delicious freshly home cooked meal. The rooms are great, spacious and have everything you need. If you want to escape the hassle from the city, this is your place!
