“Escape into nature”

The Kasaguadua Lodge is located in the middle of a natural reserve, 2 km from Salento followed by a 20 Min hike into the Jungle. Carlos provided us with detailed information about the path, what to bring and what to take care of in regards to ecotourism. The place is very unique, peaceful and we felt like in paradise. Everything was built by hand and you can feel the love and passion in every room. Carlos was an amazing host and made us feel like being a part of this community. We woke up with birds singing in the morning, had a delicious breakfast and explored the reserva.

William, one of the founders, is an incredible person: very kind, welcoming, and a real pleasure to meet. The breakfast was also delicious. Kasaguadua gave us a truly unique experience in the nature of Colombia: sleeping surrounded by the sounds of the forest and being reminded that we are only guests there. The nature excursion organized by Kasaguadua was fun and interesting, and it was led by Savi, a young, well-prepared local guide who was also a pleasure to meet. Getting to Kasaguadua at night was not easy and can become a bit tricky and challenging, especially if it is raining. The 20–30 minute path can get very muddy in some sections, so it may not be suitable for everyone. That said, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Salento in a different and more authentic way. At the entrance to the path, you can easily find passing Jeep Willys, and Uber can also reach that point without problems.

“Amazing nature experience”

- William is an amazing host, making our time in Kasaguadua magical, very good communication and organization as well - absolute nature experience, but with luxus of electricity, fully equipped kitchen, hot shower etc. - the additional tour we took with him is also very great to learn about the place, the nature etc. - don't miss on the adventure walk to the waterfall/kanyonig - very good breakfast shared with the host - as there is only place for 6 people to sleep, it feels very private (we even had the luck to be the only ones down in this magical place) - free luggage storage in town available (use it to not have to carry all your stuff down and up)

In my opinion, Kasaguadua is a perfect example of getting off the beaten track. The way to Kasaguadua is quite challenging, but after hikking, you can be closer to the nature, awaken by beautiful birds singing in the morning and to be overwhelmed by beauty of the world. This place is also great because of Willy, who is so humble and open-minded to others m. It is perfect place to relax, to run away from present world.

Carlos was brilliant, very knowledgeable about the local area and nature, having many recommendations on which coffee finca’s to visit and helped organise horse riding for me so that they would pick me up from the property rather than me going into Solento. Carlos was also very kind and had great conversation with him.

The Kasaguadua is an inspiring and special place. The host Willy is super kind and interesting - he made sure we had what we needed to feel comfortable and talked super slow and clear for us to understand his Spanish. The location in the middle of the small jungle makes hikes in the area (small waterfall) a real experience! There’s good signage to find your way around.

We loved kasaguadua, it’s a very unique accommodation! It was fascinating to learn about and see the work they put (and still do) into this amazing project. It’s very inspiring. You’re surrounded by nature and wake up with birds singing. William is super friendly and ready to help you with anything you need. He has an amazing energy and is an amazing cook! He cooked a delicious breakfast that we had together every morning, he really welcomes you into his home.

You are really in the jungle, but also you have own pod with a comfy bed, hot water and comfy common spaces. Carlos is an amazing host, he'll explain everything to you about the lodge, but also will prepare really good breakfast. Just do groceries before checking in and relax being in the nature.

A really special place. Carlos is a wonderful host, generous with his time, easy to chat to and has lots of good recommendations for Salento and other parts of Colombia. It is very much in the middle of the jungle - it's a good 20-25 minute trek to get there - making it a unique experience you'll struggle to find anywhere else.

Great breakfast cooked with care (catered for vegans) and the kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals for lunch and dinner. Excellent chats with the fabulous owners, who are really inspiring. The design of the place is also super cool and regenerative - I felt I learned a lot just from being there and seeing how it all worked together. So many amazing plants and birds across the land, waking you up in the morning and accompanying throughout the day. And a bird watching book to help identify them all :) Beautiful location and super cool to be able to contribute to and be part of this sustainable tourism project. Awesome zazen meditation sessions too! One of the best and most memorable places I visited in my whole trip in Colombia. Very special indeed <3

Carlos and Willy have created something very special, that goes beyond an accommodation. Kasaguadua is an experience, in which you are exposed to a lot of new knowledge about the nature and you are given a chance to become part of the system for a few days. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn, experience and meet our hosts. The memory of this stay will be with me for years

“Little treasure in the middle of the jungle”

We truly loved our stay in Kasaguadua, the place is beautifully created with a mindset focused on sustainability. For this reason, it was perfect to disconnect from the city, learn and enjoy the nature. Carlos is a great host and an admirable person, and Luna (the cat) is super friendly. Breakfast was delicious and the facilities transmit calm. This place is perfect if you want to experience nature and you’re not looking for a 5-star hotel experience.

Carlos and William were amazing hosts. They made our trip to Salento incredibly special. We feel so lucky to have been a small part of this important community. I couldn’t recommend this stay enough!

“My favourite place in Colombia”

I LOVED this place. Amazing location in the jungle. The cabin has everything you need, very comfortable, and very clean. The owner Carlos, is a wonderful human - super knowledgeable about the birds and animals around, and also a wonderful breakfast chef. We had a brilliant night tour led by Luna, the resident cat, and we paid in scritches. Sitting outside reading, listening to the bird song was the most relaxed I've felt in a weeks. I adored this place and cannot wait to go back. It's also only ten minutes and 2,000 pesos from town.
