“Amazing building to stay in, calm and clean.”

I was so apprehensive when I realised we'd booked a place with no ensuite toilet, but in the end this was not at all an issue: the bathrooms were close to the room, big fluffy white robes and slippers were provided, and most importantly, the facilities were absolutely sparkling clean, with brilliant showers - really tip top. The bedrooms were very clean and we had wonderful high-ceiling'd exposed-stone adjoining rooms for us and our teenager. Great stay, thank you.

A gem of a place. You don't often get a chance to stay in a building with such grandeur and history. The rooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms duly modernised. There is plenty of parking and (rather surprisingly) good WiFi. The staff work super hard!

The Abbaye is very atmospheric, and it was lovely to stay in a beautiful historic building. The room was lovely and had a beautiful view with trees outside. The area was very quiet, and easy to access the town centre. I liked the robes and slippers which are provided so that you can go to the separate shower rooms/toilets. The breakfast was good, with quite a bit of choice.

Confortable rooms in a beautiful historical building. Lots of parking space. And Saintes is a beautiful place full of history. Many restaurants to choose from.

Location was very good, parking was very convenient and the building was impressive. We had an en suit room so no need to share bathrooms. It was a privilege to stay in such an amazing building.

Lovely place lots of history within the walls and the town around it was just lovely was strange having no toilet or shower in the bedroom especially this day and age

This is an atmospheric stay in an Abbaye with good quality fitments and room structure. The bathrooms are shared which we do not normally like, but they provide you with white cotton robes and sliders to get there. And they are really good quality as is the bathroom itself. You have to walk down an arched stone corridor with subtle lighting to get to your room and a short walk down the same corridor to get to the bathroom. It was very quiet. The town is a short walk away where over the river there is a range of restaurants. There is a large supermarket close by where we had a good breakfast and filled up our supplies and the car with fuel.

A special place to stay, a historic environment. Very well run. Breakfast mostly excellent - amazing selection of local honeys. Note that you have to use communal bathroom facilities - very nice ones, and plenty of them. But that may mean this is not for everyone.
