This 16th-century townhouse is on a pedestrianised street in the heart of Saintes’s historical district. It offers an aromatic herb garden, table d’hôtes and views of the cathedral. Private parking is available. Rooms at The Red Door Inn have free WiFi internet access. The rooms do not have TVs, but a large flat-screen TV is available in the lounge. Red Door serves a continental breakfast each morning. Upon a 24-hour in advance reservation, guests can enjoy on-site meals. This was our fourth time at La Porte Rouge, and for us, it perfectly meets all the expectations for a one-night stop on our drive from the UK to Spain. The team is super sweet and always makes us feel at home. The property has an incredible charm, and you can see the effort they've put into renovating it and bringing it back to its former glory. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, with the homemade jams being a standout! Saintes is overall a quiet, beautiful, and perfect place to recharge before continuing our journey.

Very old building but beautifully done up with interesting objects d’art. Breakfast was excellent quality , attention to detail, generous and quite a lot of choice. Yogurt and cheese particularly welcome. The hosts were very friendly and recommended wonderful restaurants!
