“Fabulous. Host responsive to any queries Don’tbe put off by negative review in June”

The property was beautiful. It’s location is fabulous, being close to the sea, and also the town of Saint Marie is absolutely gorgeous (if you want something a little quieter than Sainte Martin or La Flotte) which my family and I valued. We all absolutely loved the pool which was beautifully kept. The Villa itself was wonderfully spacious. The outside table was great for dining outside and on the one occasion that it rained, the inside table was wonderful too. A particular bonus was the table in the glass fronted area which the children could use for crafting and colouring. As it had a plastic cover on, we didn’t have to worry as everything could be easily wiped clean. A couple of recent reviews that we read had been worrying before our trip but from our perspective they seemed very unfair. Admittedly, all guests have their own agenda, but certainly our experience was of a fantastic holiday.

We waited in the rain for over 30 minutes before the concierge arrived later than the agreed time. The house is advertised as having a heated pool and I was specifically told that it would be 27 degrees- we arrived and it was absolutely freezing and after buying a thermometer it was less than 22 degrees. We were then told it was cold because the weather outside meant it couldn’t be heated any more. Why have a heated pool if it doesn’t work when it’s a bit cold?( weather was in 20s and sunny almost every day) Despite being promised that it would be 27 degrees and it not being the hosts refused to offer any kind of goodwill gesture of a partial refund but it meant our family swimming holiday was absolutely not what we hoped for! On top of this the house absolutely stank of sewage for the first three days and there were parts of the house that were filthy with dust. This was our fourth stay on the Island and the first where the pool was not able to be warmed up and the first where the hosts and concierge were absolutely refusing to help.

“Spacious villa in a peaceful location”

We visited in August with our children aged 9 & 7 and another family of 4. The villa was perfect for our group holiday. We loved the location, in a quiet spot but a short walk or cycle from the main square which has a market every morning and we went in one evening for drinks/music at one of the bars. Lovely to have the beach within walking distance - we generally cycled or drove to other beaches for swimming as the local one is quite rocky, but nice to have this on the doorstep. The kids loved the pool which is a good size, plenty of sun loungers and outdoor seating, as well as the garden space for ball games. The house was spacious and well equipped, the kitchen in particular had everything we could have needed to cook for a group. Plenty of space on the drive for parking. The hosts made contact in advance and met us at the property on arrival and departure - we got stuck in traffic crossing the bridge on the way over and they were flexible about timings to allow for this, keeping in contact with us, which was appreciated. We enjoyed a very relaxing week on this beautiful island, would highly recommend a stay at this lovely property.
