“Relaxedand enjoyed the true Bordeaux”

Amazing hostess and adorable surroundings. Took the dogs for a walk in the winery and we all loved it I will remember our dinner under a lit chestnut tree for a long time. It even featrued 2 local "firsts" for me which does not happen often.

We just stayed for 5 days at this beautiful chateau. The staff were so helpful and accommodated my food intolerences requirements amazingly, going out of their way to make special recipies that I could eat which was so much apprecaited. The home from home feel of the chateau but also with the benefits of a gym, music room and spa and meals being prepared for you. The food was great quality, tasted amazing and cooked perfectly. The staff were really helpful and friendly but also allowed you privacy whilst staying there. The chateau and grounds were lovely and were located in a quiet peaceful location but easily accessible to areas with a car (or by bike, which can be hired/borrowed by the property).

“Spacious and serene”

It’s a beautiful house renovated to a very high standard in gorgeous well maintained gardens, Indoor and outdoor pool. We chose the largest room which apart from being very nicely decorated had a super comfortable bed and was very serene. There are many vineries and restaurants a short drive away. Melanie and Laurent were very helpful and welcoming.

This is a fabulously renovated mansion - small chateau , in the middle of a countryside surrounded by gorgeous vineyards ; we love the comfy and well decorated room(3) , the common/relax rooms , the pool , the trees & gardens & grass, the flowers , the bees , the hummingbirds , the sunrise , and ... all . Dinner and BF are terrific .The Hosts and the staffers are friendly , welcoming , very kind , helpful with the area information , and ... are truly wonderful !

Absolutely amazing location, staff and facilities. Restored chateau in wonderful grounds where the attention to detail was incredible. Spa - fantastic, we had two massages which were wonderful. Indoor and outdoor pools, both heated; hot tub; well equipped gym; sauna; games room with pool table, bar football; music room with vinyl player. So lovely to have breakfast in the garden when the sunshine’s; beautiful views over the surrounding vineyards. Electric bike rental to tour the region was well organised. Food was incredible both breakfast and dinner and nothing was too much trouble. Truly a hidden gem

“An indulgent and special place to stay”

We had a very enjoyable stay at this oasis of calm and luxury. Laurent’s cooking is delicious and Melanie ensures your every wish is catered for. Fabien’s massages are fabulous!

Everything!!! The layout with ample rooms to relax from the various lounges through to the kitchen area as well the spa area and the outside poolside- all of it was tastefully done and created a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Melanie and Laurent were excellent hosts too helping with arranging chateau visits and recommending great local restaurants. Definitely looking to return and bring some friends as just spending time there and in the extensive gardens is so peaceful. Melanie and Laurent know the area so well and have renovated the whole place very stylishly. And know many locals from wine chateaus to restaurant owners and really helped us get organised. The dinner prepared for us was rustic but wholesomely tasteful. They also have a very good wine list.

“Peaceful, beautiful and relaxing”

We had a wonderful stay at Chateau du Palanquey. The chateau was beautiful with lovely grounds and a great pool. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with good air conditioning. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We used the spa for a massage which was great. Melanie also helped us to plan an e-bike excursion which we really enjoyed, and she made the plans very easy for us. The chateau was a short drive from Saint-Emilion with lots of nice restaurants and shops.

Idyllic escape in the heart of St Emillion country side, surrounded by vineyards and rolling green hills. Wonderful gardens and facilities (pool, games rooms, spa, sauna, wine room, etc). Felt welcomed from the moment we got there. A wonderful overnight stay, a short drive into town. Melanie (owner) was helpful, reserving a table at local restaurant and wine tour (thank you!). Breakfast was served in the gardens. I wish we had more time to enjoy the outdoor pool

Peaceful, scenic location, outdoor and indoor pools, comfortable rooms, great breakfast (cooked and continental), lovely staff. Tifany looked after us exceptionally well in the run-up to and during our stay.

Breakfast was wonderful. Outside under the trees. Croissants, chocolate du oain, the orange juice were perfection. We qere offered eggs as well.

The standard of accommodation was excellent, a fantastic shower and a very comfortable bed. We had fabulous food with fantastic service in great surroundings, wonderful garden and views. Topped off with a games room with pool table. A very friendly place to stay.

Wow what a place. I arriving thinking I was going to a chateau hotel but was surprised to find it was a chambre de hotes or B&B. It was such an ironic experience as I had visited a property the day before to buy which needed a lot of work and I was thinking oh no until I went to Chateau Palanquey! What an amazing oasis in a vineyard. I arrived in the dark so it was such a surprise to see the landscape in the morning. The facilities are amazing. The level of effort is astounding and I can see why they have such a high rating. Indoor pool, outdoor pool, sauna, robes, slippers, no detail left to chance. Designed to the highest level. It's such a beautiful place. I will definitely be back for the vendage! Melanie and her husband Laurent were delightful. I really appreciated the chat we had about restoration and advice they gave me. And Ironically we had worked for the same company but in two different countries. The world is indeed small. Thanks for an amazing stay.

“A beautiful stay in the heart of stunning vineyards.”

We booked this stay for a bit of rest and relaxation after a hectic few years, and that's certainly what we got. The property is stunning and has been recently renovated to an incredibly high standard with some great authentic vintage pieces dotted around. You really are away from it all as the chateau is nestled within private vineyards, so you'll hardly hear anything other that the birds and workers in the fields. Melanie and Laurent are really great hosts and ensured we had everything we needed. I really recommend making use of the bikes to get to and from Saint-Émilion and the surrounding Chateau's for wine tasting too - this was truly the highlight of our stay.
