There is a lot to like about this characterful hotel, nestled in the centre of the historic town of Saint-Savin. The staff helped me out with several issues, served a great breakfast and provided a solid base to explore the area.

I am a regular visitor at Hotel de France, so having a quiet room is important. The friendliness & helpfulness of the young staff is outstanding ; as an older person I do not have great skills with tech communications, & the young lady receptionist helped me with skill & goodwill, which I hugely appreciated !

Great welcoming staff. Free coffee machine for use in the public lounge. The location is beautiful, however the hotel has heavy lorries running past day and night. Parking is free on the square and there is a cheap EV charger available in the square, but be aware that neither the parking nor the charger are "on site" at the hotel as suggested by the Booking.com description

Lovely old building in a beautiful village. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Comfortable enough. Very lovely and friendly stuff. The breakfast was nice too, delicious croissants.

I went to buy a house in St Savin Hotel staff were always helpful and polite.Hotel inside very clean and tidy outside needs a little T.L.C. I would stay there again and use it for family and friends when they visit. Nice breakfast..

Large room with very comfortable bed. Staff were charming. Cave in reception selling local produce, beer and wine.

Warm welcome, large room with very comfortable bed. Easy parking just opposite. Hotel bar and cave, selling local produce. Our host was informative and booked us a table at a beautiful restaurant close by. All great for an overnight stop.

The ground floor room we were finally allocated was clean & the beds were very comfortable with good linen. The view of the collegiate Church from our room was beautiful. The boutique selling local honey, pates, & wine is excellent.

A charming friendly welcome at the end of a long journey - even had my bag carried! Traditional (uncomplicated) service reflects the character of this hotel. A well proportioned and spotless bedroom, a very comfortable overnight stay - would book again next time I'm in the area. Thank you to all.
