Delicious breakfast, lovely and welcoming hosts. Elizabeth even helped me sort a taxi back to the train station! Highly recommend to anybody who wants an authentic French rural experience alongside modern conveniences!

The breakfast was served in a room full of character. Fresh oranges were available to juice and there were fresh croissants and bread each morning.

My room was an attic type room with ensuite facilities! The overall size was perfect for my stay ! The breakfast was enough for my needs as I was unable to finish what was on offer ! The room had a kettle which allowed me to make coffee or tea !

Excellent welcome and absolutely loved the character of Maison Marthe perfect for a visit to find out more about Colette and feel you are experiencing the life she lived as a child. Elizabeth kindly offered and booked us dinner at a fabulous restaurant. The garden is most lovely and relaxing on a summer eve and very good typically French breakfast. Great to meet regular guests at breakfast. This really is a wonderful place to really feel the French countryside and would definitely recommend a stay here (as described) To anyone who isn't a fan of Ibis and loves character! Than you

Elizabeth was welcoming, booked a local restaurant for us, upgraded us because of a cancellation and made sure we knew where everything was. The room was comfortable, the garden beautiful and the place is very easy to access if you are going to Guedelon Château

I don’t like writing a bad review but I think it’s important to warn other travelers to avoid this establishment. For €90 a night I was very disappointed in our stay. 1. Clutter and tat everywhere- closer to a charity shop than a BnB. 2. Archaic decor and impractical amenities - tiny shower, peeling paint and cracked tiles. 3. Subpar cleaning - Dust and hair everywhere and a general smell of decay. 4. Ancient plumbing system that meant at 05:30 when the hostess awoke everyone was awoken by the noise of the pipes - paper thin walls also so could hear other guests snoring. We were hoping breakfast would redeem our poor experience but unfortunately it was simple faire we could have got ourselves from the boulangerie. I think this BnB was once lovely but it has unfortunately fallen into disrepair and needs desperate maintenance if it is to continue to function as a business.

“Charming shabby chic”

Room contained a plentiful collection of memorabilia so less room to use table surfaces. Bathroom was clean, and bed linen was clean. A refresh of some items such as throw pillows and scatter rugs would add to the cleanliness. Remember to ask for cheese and meats to be included with your breakfast.
