Overview

“Pleasant Stop Over with an Engaging Hostess”
We needed a stopover on our way south after getting off Eurostar and this proved a good location. Located in a quiet town, the hostess is an interesting and friendly person. The style is a bit more like a B&B than a hotel, and I think had we arrived on a different day we might have eaten elsewhere, even given the generous hospitality of our hostess. There is a pleasant garden to enjoy that is hidden as the accommodation is behind the mainroad.

“Extraordinary, beautiful place in a quiet little hamlet.”
Extraordinary place, beautiful interiors, like in a French romantic film. Beautiful garden where we could spend the evening (everything else in the little hamlet was closed, as it was a Monday evening). Our lovely hostess, Sophie, told us many interesting stories about life in the village. Great, tasty and healthy breakfast.

We were looking for a ‘classic’ French style experience. Sophie’s house was exceptional in this regard. Situated at the centre of a lovely and quiet village

“A perfect overnight stay within a beautiful 17th century house with a fabulous host”
Perfect for our overnight stop en route from Ile de Re to Calais. A warm welcome from Sophie and her pets despite the last minute nature of our booking. The house is quirky and full of original features. Our room was large with two armchairs to enjoy the view over the walled garden and the rooftops. The bed was unbelievably comfortable with fresh white cotton sheets. We slept like a log. The bathroom was well equipped with plentiful hot water for our showers. Breakfast, hand made by Sophie, was delicious and healthy. She is a fascinating and very hospitable host who was happy to chat but wasn’t intrusive. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. A little gem. Thank you, Sophie.
