“Excellent place to explore the platinum coast”

Everything was brilliant. Communication with Carl in the uk to communication with Marcia on the island. The villa is beautiful and even more spacious than it appears in the photos. There is everything you need for a very comfortable week. The swimming pool and gym is in the building around the corner, no distance at all! The plunge pool is in the back garden and everything is very well maintained. The beds were super comfy! The grounds are secure and have a gate and security. The beach is a 9minute walk down the road and 5minutes to the local bar and bus stop. The buses are frequent and a lot of fun! The supermarket is a 8 minute drive and holetown is 20minutes south with an even bigger availability of stores. There are restaurants up and down the beach road. Some local and some fancy.

Shimmers is beautiful place from which to enjoy Barbados. It’s beautifully designed within and has all the modern facilities you could ask for. Marcia, the property manager, was friendly and communicable, and the beach is a short walk away for sunrise swims and sundowner drinks.

Where do I start … First time staying on the beautiful island of Barbados and we couldn’t ask for a better place to spend our 10 days in paradise. Everything from the small details of Shimmers and the home from home feel made us instantly relax, unwind and appreciate every moment. Shimmers is the perfect place to explore Speightstown, Holetown, Bridgetown and the surrounding west coast, we hired a car for the duration of the holiday, it was worth every penny and allowed us to explore the east coast and visit some wonderful beaches, restaurants and scenery, there are so many little bars we stopped at on our adventures throughout the daytime, the people are lovely and friendly and very welcoming. There are too many fabulous restaurants to name, our handful of our favourite were, Local and Co, Seashed, Baia, The Cliff for Sunday Dinner they do a fabulous 3 courses, La Cabenne, Sitar, The Fishpot restaurant is lovely for breakfast and dinner, Zaccios has a good happy house, 111E is lovely for sunset drink and Tides in Holetown is also lovely for food & drinks. QP bistro located next to the Cliff, lovely pastries at breakfast and also a great vibe (beach club) in the evening. The complex is full of fantastic facilities, the villa is spacious, the hot tub and garden area is a wonderful little hideout and our morning greeting from the little birds and occasional monkeys were just so comical and lovely, the villa is well equipped with all amenities and necessities, the décor is beautiful and the beds are very comfy! Lastly we want to thank Marcia for being a wonderful point of contact at the end of the phone throughout the holiday and also Carl and Lisa for welcoming and introducing us to their beautiful holiday rental. Great family complex close to the Mullins beach

“Loved this holiday and can't wait to return.”

We have just returned from an amazing holiday here and found the villa perfectly located for a quick, 5 minute stroll to Mullins beach, or one of the local bars & restaurants. Very easy to get to either Holetown or Speightstown by bus and a great position on the island to get to all the tourist spots. The villa itself was immaculate and very tastefully furnished. Everything we needed from kitchenware to reading materials to beach towels was provided, and we found both the hosts and villa manager, Marcia, were extremely helpful & knowledgeable about things to do. The pool area was lovely and we met such friendly people, we are already hoping to book again for the summer.
