“Just order the dinners”

Our hosts Laurence and Nicol were very welcoming. We ordered dinners all the nights we stayed there and Laurence prepared home-made local dishes, which were always excellent and better than in any restaurant. During dinners our hosts answered all the questions we had about the island. We got lots of advice and we learned so much. It felt as if we were at home or visiting our relatives. It was an amazing start of our trip to Reunion. Regarding the accommodation, the room had a nice terrace to relax after a day in the mountain. The location is also very convenient if you plan to go to Maïdo and weather is a bit chillier than by the sea. We will be happy to come back! Thank you!

“Excellent accommodation in proximity of Maïdo summit”

This is really an excellent accommodation (out of six different that I used during my stay in Reunion, this one really stands out!). It is about an hour drive from Maïdo (ideal to go for the sun rise). The room with en-suite bathroom is comfortable (it also has a direct access from the terrace), well-equipped with kettle for making tea/coffee, there is enough coat hangers (!). The host is very kind and helpful, breakfast tasty.

Host gave us a small meal free after driving up the hill in the dark from airport due to flight delays. The hosts were very friendly and used google translate when our French faltered. We had a good breakfast very early to catch sunrise on the maido. Room was comfy with small deck outside.

The property was very homely, the hosts were extremely welcoming and accomodating and it was great value for money.

Perfect location if you want to drive to Maido in the early morning. Very kind hosts, clear room and a good breakfast with home made jam and cake, fruits, fresh pressed juice and coffee or tea. Communication in English via Google translator. Everything at a reasonable price. 150% recommandation from my side.

“Newly build room with a top standard and very nice and friendly hosts”

We slept the night before we walked to le Grand Bénard. The (quiet) location is perfectly located on the way and it's newly build with a top standard. The owner were extremely friendly and helpful and treated us with a memorable dinner. We found private parking, a nice shower/bathroom and a very clean room with a spacious bed. Communication with Laurence was very easy and responsive.

“Perfect accommodation for Le Maïdo”

Perfect accommodation for driving up to Le Maïdo in the morning. Very nice breakfast with home-made jams and fresh fruit. We also had a fantastic dinner, which was a great introduction to the local cuisine. The hosts joined us, and we learned so much about Réunion. We are just sorry that our French is not better!

Super cozy rooms, very friendly owners and excellent location close to the sunrise watching spot in Maido.

Laurence and her husband are great. They told us few things about the area and gave us good indications. Laurence prepared dinner for us with typical food, it was excellent. I totally recommend it.

Laurence's welcome was great and accessibility from Maido view point was another good point.we had a convivial time at breakfast.The gato banane was a plus.we will strongly recommend La Petite Escale du Maîdo.

Very near to Piton Maïdo. The perfect place to stay for seeing the sunset there.
