Lovely couple great room and fabulous breakfast

“Perfect Stay - Amazing Host”

Saint-Macaire is a very small, local, beautiful village. As it is so small, there are only a few cafes and restaurants, but well worth the trip for one night. If you go, you must stay here! Firstly, the location was right in the centre of the village, so everything you wanted to see was within a 5 minute walk. Pascale the host gave us a local walking map, recommendations for restaurants, helped us call them for bookings (as we don't speak French) and even gave us a ride to the train station the next day (as we were training from Langon). He also prepared a lovely breakfast with homemade marmalade & honey. Overall it was an amazing stay, and Pascale made it even better :)

The whole experience of the B&B was excellent. We were warmly greeted and given bottles of cold water - very much appreciated given the very warm weather. The breakfast was excellent. Although there is no parking with the property, there was no problem parking close to the property.

- convenient spot within the old city walls but next to the municipal parking - super comfortable room and bed - hosts were very polite and breakfast was perfect to start the day with.

We just needed somewhere to stop on the way but found this little gem. Fantastic big room, comfortable bed, quiet. The medieval village is beautiful and well worth exploring. Hosts were lovely. Yes the steps are a challenge, but we left the suitcase in the car and just took day packs up.

We loved our time at Gîte Orget. Pascal and Emmanuelle were wonderful hosts - welcoming and kind. Very grateful for the help with arranging to see a vineyard. The breakfast provided on each of the three days we stayed was delicious. The homemade marmalade and honey was particularly nice. The room was lovely and well decorated. Despite the heat outside, it was nice and airy. We slept very well. Saint Macaire is a beautiful village, full of character and incredible traditional architecture. There are several restaurants and bars in the town where you can sample the local wine - which must be done. Every meal we had was lovely. Particularly the Le Medieval Restaurant. Would definitely return here. Merci!

The homemade marmalade is exceptional! The room was quiet, clean, and cozy. The host was incredibly kind and warmly welcoming. He provided excellent recommendations for restaurants, places to visit, and more.

Large clean room, with a super king very comfortable bed. The room is beautifully decorated and includes a kettle and a Nespresso. We were warmly welcomed by Emmanuelle. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and presented expertly by a very friendly Pascal. We were very impressed by the accommodation, the hosts and the breakfast. Would highly recommend. St. Macaire, is an interesting Medieval village and is well worth a visit.

Super host, so friendly and smiley. Charming room, very comfy bed, we slept so well. Great breakfast. All just delightful.

We were met with great hospitality from the owners. We had a large room with comfortable bed and in the morning we had a good breakfast. Can recommend to stay here.

We had a lovely welcome, our room was spacious, pretty and relaxing with the most comfortable bed. Excellent shower! My husband had injured his foot and Pascal & Emanuelle were so kind, they even brought our breakfast to our room to avoid him using the stairs too much.They gave us a very good recomendation for our evening meal close to the gite ! Parking is near by, easy and safe. We will have to return when fully mobile so we can hopefully stay again & explore the little streets of the town.

Fantastic comfortable stay. Very helpful friendly hosts. Our room was absolutely gorgeous the bed is huge and very comfortable. A fantastic breakfast, the very best we’ve had. The lady who served breakfast was lovely too. Would recommend the pizza restaurant in the village.

The village is nice but the gîte is not the nice property on thrift side of the picture but the ugly building on the left
