This hotel couldn’t be better located. It was charming, historical with fantastic food and bar. The room we stayed in was the most basic but still perfect for our needs. Everything was kept clean and well equipped. Fantastic value for money and really made our stay.

Mosquito nets over the bed (not just screens at the window like a lot of places claiming “mosi nets”.) good bar & restaurant onsite, and good breakfast selection, though delicious Bourdain baguettes with various fillings available opposite too.

Great stay and very atmospheric building. With an excellent breakfast.

The location. Rooftop view. Breakfast included but they stopped service at 10.10 while it says 10.30 on the room.

Small and busy little hotel. Great location in the middle of everything, so a short walk to many places. Rooms were small, but quiet which was a great surprise considering how much activity there was outside. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was plentiful and set out buffet style with lots of items. The bar area is very attractive and great for spending a few hours. The pool is a walk away and looked lovely, though we did not manage to use it.

Nice colonial hotel, very central position. I can see why it has so many good reviews, but somehow overrated (see what I didn't like). The bar has a really nice setting. Staff was really nice and helped us find transport back to Dakar (Dem Dikk was fully booked and private cars extremely expensive - but they advices on which transport to use - minivan - and the recommendation was spot on).

Probably the best place to stay on the island. Excellent restaurant, too- the rooms can be a bit noisy, but that‘s due to the overall vibrancy of St. Louis. Some rooms are very small and dark, ask for a room with a window.

The absolute best and most affordable hotel in Saint-Louis! My colleagues stayed at other hotels and they could not even hold a candle to Hôtel La Résidence for the same price (and one was actually even more expensive). Perfect location, quiet and peaceful, spotlessly clean with all amenities, super comfy bed, amazing aircon, excellent wifi, extremely safe, fantastic breakfast, and wonderful, helpful staff. Would 100% recommend this hotel!

“Absolutely gorgeous colonial hotel with fantastic staff”

I'm absolutely amazed that this hotel has such a low average rating because my wife and I absolutely loved our stay. The staff were superb, epitomised by the security officer running down the pitch dark street at 6am in the morning to help find us a taxi so that we didn't miss our early morning bus to Dakar. The restaurant and bar areas are absolutely gorgeous; a wonderful colonial hotel vibe. It was a joy to dine and drink in this hotel. Our room was very nice, the location is perfect and the staff were really great in the restaurant, bar and front desk. This to me was a proper 4-star hotel experience. If I ever return to Saint Louis, I will definitely stay here again. Many thanks 🙏

The staff so friendly and kind, they allowed to park my motorcycle inside the reception. Which was a great welcoming gesture. FOOD WAS GREAT.

This was a really excellent hotel. It was very central the facilities were excellent, and the food and staff top rate.

Some people were helpful. Cleaning staff is friendly. Dinner was good except some dishes. The decoration is beautiful.

The breakfast was lovely with omlettes, fruit, cheese, meats, bread and crepes. The hotel itself had alot of character and the staff were very attentive. The man on reception actually arranged for me to get euros changed and got them delivered which was really helpful. The decor was pretty cool and there was a big TV in the bar

“Not up to our expectations”

I think that the price is overcharged for the tiny room, which was not giving me the impression of being clean. The toilet was so small even me (I have a normal size/weigh) could hardly use it. The WC was almost falling off (and I am not heavy). The restaurant/bar and lounge area are nice but the rest needs to be improved or the price reduced.
