Thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay in L’Auberdiere. Accommodation was full of historic charm and it was clean and comfortable. Very modern bathrooms with first class facilities and plentiful hot water supply. The garden was an exceptional feature which we enjoyed on both evenings.

This house is fabulous! The charm of an old original Norman farm combined with all the modern facilities you can dream of. The beds are amazing, really comfortable box spring beds. The grounds are very big and there is good garden furniture available. It is maximum 40 minutes drive to a lot of interesting historical locations such as Caen with the beautiful abbeys, museums, Avranches with the scriptorium museum with the manuscripts from Mont St Michel, smaller towns in the region with markets and outdoor cafes. The communication with the owner Thomas is swift and efficient. Lots of tourist information in the house. A lovely stove with wood to heat the kitchen area, good heating in the other rooms. Modern bathrooms with a rainshower and a big bath. Lots of towels. Good knives. Good lighting to read, also in the bedrooms. I really cannot find any faults in this house, we found it perfect. Many notes or instructins in the house are in English, so I gather they get lots of English speaking guests, but that's fine with us. There are some "emergency" supplies in the kitchen, which you can use and then replace. And there was a good bottle of homemade apple juice and a box of cookies waiting for us as a welcome present, a nice touch.

Nice and peaceful place. Everything needed during the stay is provided, even some emergency food supplies (as long as you refill). Extraordinarly big garden to enjoy for us and our dog.

Gorgeous french-style house with a huge garden, staying at L’auberdiere means to taste a piece of Normandy way of life, an experience that we would like to repeat. Located in Calvados is a good starting position to visit main Normandy cities and attractions. Equipped with all appliances inside, Mr Thomas will guide and help all guests to enjoy the house, recommended for holidays and travels with kids and pets.

We loved the rural location of the property, and it’s warm, welcoming feel. The kitchen/ dining room, with its wood burning stove provided the focal point for eating, reading and deciding where to visit from the excellent range of tourist leaflets and advice from the hosts. Our host was extremely helpful, responding immediately to any questions or advice we sought. He gave us suggestions for lovely local walks which we would not have found in our own.

We stayed for 3 nights and this house was the highlight of our trip. The host had thought of everything in terms of necessities and luxuries, and we felt very welcome. The property itself has a lot of space. You truly feel secluded in the beautiful French countryside. The 8 hectares of meadow were plenty enough for our dog and ourselves to explore. The location is prime for the classic Normandy destinations. Everything is within a small drives distance. Definetly recommend booking this house.

The location was ideal for a short weekend stay. Despite it being January, the house was warm and comfortable, and the owners were welcoming and helpful, with prompt responses to messages.
