This is a 5 star hotel which benefits from a top location in front of a lagoon. - Refined cuisine (although the half board has certain limitations) and excellent breakfast - Good offer of ammenities (tennis court, table tennis, snorkling) and the largest pool in Reunion - Nice architecture of the hotel and gardens - Friendly and competent staff

I would rate LUX Saint Gilles Resort to 20 points if it would be possible. Very relaxed, quiet, enjoyable place with very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, and a very good location. Many thanks for the excellent musical entertainment in the evenings. We got into a medical emergency situation during our stay and all members of the staff were very helpful and supportive. We are especially grateful to the director of the resort, Mr. Patrice Hudebine and Ms. Julie Hauer, guest relations manager for their kindness and extraordinary help. We recommend LUX full heartedly for all who are looking for enjoyable relaxation in Reunion.

Wonderful pool, beautiful beach on the lagoon with plenty of loungers at both. Relaxing atmosphere and very attentive and kind staff. Nothing was too much trouble and service was perfect.

Personal is very polite but most of them do not speak English.

It was scruffy and tired looking. Expensive 5 star hotel but should be re assessed to more like a 3 star. We paid half board but the buffet was closed 3 nights out of our 4 and had no choice but to eat in one of their other 2 restaurants but then you must pay a surcharge on top of what you’ve already paid for dinner or you have room service at full charge. The staff were pleasant but certainly not friendly. The grounds were scruffy, uncut lawns, bare patches of grass areas, tennis court fence has huge holes in it, the beach furniture needs replacing. Basically it’s very tired and in urgent need of a revamp.
