We spent a marvelous week this April in Normandy at the Moulin de la Génetée in Saint-Aubin-sur-Scie — a beautiful and authentic water mill nestled in the peaceful valley leading down to the coast. One week was simply not enough to fully appreciate the landscapes, the charm of the villages, the open markets, local specialties, and the warmth of the people. One of the most memorable parts of our stay was our host, who owns several remarkable properties in the valley, including another historic mill just a kilometer away. She was an exceptional ambassador for the region, always ready with recommendations for a seaside pint, a coastal walk, or hidden local treasures. Her knowledge of the local flora, fauna, biodiversity, and agricultural history made every conversation fascinating. The 10-hectare property surrounding the Moulin de la Génetée is full of life — animals, birds, streams, gardens, and nature at every turn — enchanting for both children and adults alike. We were three generations traveling together and genuinely fell in love with this hidden treasure so close to Paris. The wing where we stayed was private, authentic, and wonderfully cozy: large fireplaces in the evenings, long family lunches around the courtyard tables, salads and barbecues in the sun, and even a brazier for evenings under the stars. A truly memorable stay that we hope to repeat.

The location was perfect. Nice and rural but close to Civilization, shops etc. Lovely old timber framed building with bags of character. The host (Clothilde) was absolutely lovely and attentive enough but also allowed us space.

The garden, the tranquility and the beautiful house of the XVIII century .Clothilde was amaizing, she also gave us a lots of tips over markets and beautiful villages near the house. We traveled with our dog and was perfect because the garden was completely fenced.

Beds comfy, definitely get the French experience here

The property has lots of French charm- rented both houses as there were a lot of us. Cooking isn’t easy. Enough supplies but cooker awkward to use in smaller house. Owner very helpful and kind.

Spacious and comfortable Normandy house in the midst of nature and close to Dieppe/coast

Wonderful location not far from Dieppe and the coast. Very easy access by car but at the same time, quiet and private location surrounded by nature. A very nice bakery close by (5 mins by car, 15 mins by e-bike). Lots of space inside and outside the house. overall well equipped and comfortable for longer stays. We stayed at the house for a family vacation with 6 adults and 1 child and we were all very comfortable due to the 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. the fireplace was cozy in the evenings. There is a front yard and back yard. We especially enjoyed the back yard, which is the smaller but private one and gets the sun in the afternoon/evening. This is a great spot for barbecues and lunches outside. There is nothing to criticize, but I do want to add this information to help future guests plan for their trip: - the two staircases are quite steep, so it was great that my elderly parents could stay in the one bedroom on the ground floor. - WIFI is available and works especially well in the kitchen. Not so well in other rooms, but that's no problem once you have figured this out. We would definitely come back!

Amazing place, huge converted barn with 4 bedrooms and lots of character. Our host was great and the animals around gave it a wonderful authentic country feel. We used the BBQ out the back and they had everything we needed with lots of outdoor table space.

Very soothing experience, and I would definitely plan a return visit.

The property is set in a wonderful semi-rural setting, with trees and flowers all around, wonderfully aromatic. The owners were very accommodating and responsive to needs and questions. There is area to sit outside and BBQ, and cows to interact with. There is a stream very close by. We also saw our very first wild boar! Both my children declared within minutes that they never wanted to leave France.

A very chill, yet quite glam, holiday space !

The property, the surroundings, everything was fantastic! We loved staying there, the owners were very helpful, but left us to our own devices. Many interesting places and venues around to visit. We loved our stay.
