Lovely, comfortable house with great outdoor space for dogs. Great comms with host. Well equipped with everything you might need. It’s in a quiet area with plentiful walks straight from the front door. Garden not entirely enclosed and opens onto fields, so be vigilant with off lead dogs, especially if you have gun dogs as there are also pheasants nearby! 10 mins to A26 making run back to Devon nice and straightforward. We will definitely stay again! Thank you ☺️

Christine emailed the arrival details on the morning of the stay, everything went smoothly. Location was very quiet but only 5 miles from the shops, bars and restaurants of St Quentin. The house was fantastic, in excellent condition, extremely well equipped, everything you could ever need and more. Lovely garden area for the dog to play in.

“Comfy gite needing a bit of TLC”

The gite is large and comfy. There is a small but perfectly adequate kitchen with good quality saucepans, crockery, glass wear and cutlery. If you are self catering you need to take absolutely all ingredients, the only items provided are a variety of tea bags and tooth picks. The lounge/diner is a great size and very comfortable with 2 large sofas, a coffee table, and a dining table with chairs. There are two comfortable bedrooms, one with a large double bed & ensuite and one with a double and a single bed with a bathroom ensuite with a utility room off (although the WC is separate). The layout of the gite is lovely with the bedrooms at opposite ends. Outside is a large patio with grill, a table and chairs and a large garden with garden furniture. Unfortunately it isn’t enclosed so we didn’t let our dog off the lead. The gite is down a fairly long unmade drive and depending on which way you approach it, it can be easily missed, as it is in the middle of some trees. There is plenty of parking. Not that it affected our stay but the gite does need some TLC - some of the paintwork was peeling and the wood had swollen making it tricky to open and close doors, there was some mildew in the bathrooms and the enamel on the bath was ‘peeling’ off. The location was ideal for us - halfway between Ham for our Vet visit before we returned to UK and Saint Quentin, a lively, interesting town. The owners were very friendly.

Location and ambiance

Lovely quiet location for an overnight stop with disabled relative (all one level) and a dog who could simply be allowed out into the garden. Picked for it's location close to our travel route so unsure what is in the area. It is outside any town and isolated so nothing is walkable but that suited us fine. Host was lovely.

“Excellent place to break journey on drive to south of France”

Lovely house with plenty of space. We needed somewhere to stay on the drive down to the south of France and this fit the bill perfectly. Maybe 10 minutes drive from the motorway junction. Really friendly and helpful owner who lives in a house next door. The house is in a secluded area, so completely quiet overnight.

The house was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. The beds were very comfortable, and although we only spent one night, as we were en route to the South of France, the house would have been perfect for a much longer stay. The owner was charming and very helpful when we contacted her to say our arrival would be delayed.
