Overview
Offering elegant interiors and design rooms with views of the Vatican, Castel Sant’Angelo, Vicolo di Sant'Onofrio or the hotel’s garden, the 5-star Gran Melia is located in central Rome. There is an on-site spa, Clarins & My Blend, together with an outdoor swimming pool. Set on a hill on the banks of the Tiber River, this design hotel is 800 metres from St Peter’s Basilica and a 15-minute walk from Piazza Navona and Campo de’ Fiori. The lively district of Trastevere is a 10-minute walk away. Rooms feature refined beige-and-wooden schemes, combining modern furniture and classic works of art. They come with free WiFi, an LCD TV, JBL Bluetooh speaker and a Nespresso machine. The bathroom is complete with Clarins luxury toiletries. The wellness centre is complete with an outdoor vitality pool, sensory shower, sauna, Turkish Bath and lounges. Facials, massages and other treatments are available on request. The hotel's swimming pool is set in the 7500-m² garden with a hydromassage pool. The outdoor swimming pool is open for the summer season. “Amazing hotel and staff”
Staff were very attentive, cannot fault them. We were so happy to see the pool open on our arrival. The weather was beautiful for our entire 3 day stay, but I had read the pool is not usually open until early May (common in Italy) and as we stayed early April I had mentally prepared myself to not be able use the pool. The pool area is stunning and so it was a huge bonus for it to be open. Breakfast was very good. They noticed my birthday was a few days before my booking and provided a complimentary round of drinks on arrival, these little things go a long way! Cappuccino's may be the best I've ever tasted, at 9 euros each they need to be lol, tip - they are included at breakfast so make the most of them! Finally, my daughter has a severe nut allergy and the staff could not have done anymore to keep her safe when eating at the hotel, which we really appreciated!

“Excellent hotel”
A luxury resort level hotel in the heart of Rome. As is typical for Melia Group hotels, the service was exceptional on every level. I especially want to highlight the concierge team — the girls organized everything we asked for, from restaurant recommendations to event tickets. Our Junior Suite was very spacious and comfortable, with a separate dressing room and two individual bathrooms, which made our stay very pleasant.
