“Beauty and tranquility in the French countryside”

The exceptional hospitality of Marielle and Arnaud who were incredibly helpful, stepping in when we needed help with transport. The chalet had everything we needed, the garden is lovely and peaceful, the dogs friendly, and the pool clean and warm. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts and found that position to be excellent; the 6days we stayed were barely sufficient for what we wanted to see and do.

Marvellous hosts in Marielle and Arnaud, who couldn’t have done anything more to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The property itself is wonderful, the town of Chinon a hidden gem, and the surrounding area is beautiful. Our only regret is that we didn’t book a longer stay.

We have had a very nice stay at this beautiful location. The owners of the house are very friendly, helpful and are really there to facilitate their guests the best possible holiday feeling. The breakfast was really nice with fresh baguette, croissants, some homemade confiture and fruit salad. The pool is well maintained and had a perfect temperature. Our kids fell in love with the two very nice dogs. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. Merci beaucoup pour les jours fantastique!!!

Absolutely exceptional place, absolutely exceptional stay! Beautifully furnished quiet house with a wonderful garden, heated pool, outdoor seating. Mariel is a beautiful elegant lady who takes great care of her guests, preparing excellent breakfasts from local and home-grown ingredients. We really enjoyed our stay in her house! “A comfortable stay with a very friendly couple and their dogs.”

We stayed in the new wooden chalet, close to te heated pool in the lovely garden. The chalet was very comfortable and clean and also close to the main house. A very tasty breakfast was taken around a communal table in the huge dining room. The hosts were both there to answer questions, give advice on where to visit and where to eat.

We absolutely loved our stay. Everything was perfect. The rooms are spacious and very well equipped. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom was very large and spotlessly clean with great pressure showers. The property itself is beautiful. We had a warm welcome by lovely host and her husband. Both hosts were absolutely amazing and we got lots of great recommendations for local attractions and restaurants . We had the most delicious and homemade French breakfast. Our kids loved running around the garden and enjoyed in the swimming pool and playing with lovely dogs. We loved the serenity and the peacefulness of this area, exactly what we needed after Paris, we will definitely come back and recommend to everyone.

Marielle was a great hostess, we felt very cared for, comfortable, and at home. Everything was exceptionally clean and the pool is a great place to cool off or enjoy the sun. Sweet breakfast is provided and if you're unsure on where to go or what to do, Marielle has great recommendations for you - both to fill your chateau viewing schedule or your belly. Absolutely recommend, say hi to the family dogs for us.

“Paradise”

An incredible experience. We were treated so well by Marielle and Arnaud their warmth and hospitality was exceptional. The guesthouse is situated among beautiful vineyards and countryside, it is very well furnished with all modern conveniences including a lovely swimming pool and the grounds are extensive with several places to sit and relax or dine. It is a great base to explore the Loire valley region and Marielle and Arnaud are a great source of information and advice on the area, We stayed longer than originally planned and quite honestly could have happily stayed all summer. We strongly recommend this place and very much hope to return ourselves Ps: as other reviews have mentioned Marielles Yogurts are delicious.

“Beautiful and comfortable B&B”

The house is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. From the windows, we could see the Chateau de Chinon in the top of the town. The owner, Marielle, is lovely and welcoming, and her garden is a dream, fruit trees, flowers and enough shadow to enjoy a sunny afternoon. Our son (7 yo) enjoyed the stay a lot, as he could play and run in the garden and moreover jump in the swimming pool as much as he wanted. Marielle and her husband were helpful, attentive and gave us tips as what to visit and where to eat in the city. It was the perfect stay for some days on our way to the South.

Peaceful location, very restful. Room and bed were extremely comfortable. Host was keen to make sure we had a good stay and had everything we wanted. The garden and swimming pool and outside eating area were lovely. We would have stayed longer if only we’d known how great it was beforehand.

We had such a wonderful warm welcome from Marielle and her communication was fantastic even before we arrived. Everything about our stay was perfect, from the rooms and bathrooms, to the delicious breakfast. It was great that Marielle allowed us to use the dining table to feed our children at in the evening rather than already needing to take them out to a restaurant. I would thoroughly recommend Rêves et Rivières to families. It was great to be able to visit the town of Chinon nearby which was a beautiful place to walk around with the kids.

“Perfect in every way!”

Marielle’s beautiful home is fully at the disposal of her guests. This includes a stylish living room with a very comfortable sofa and all of the outdoor space, including places to relax as well as eat. Marielle is the perfect host, very kind and generous, and her home is brilliantly situated for visiting the western end of the Loire Valley. We have no hesitation in recommending it and would love to revisit it ourselves one day.
