This is a quirky place! Reading the reviews was great fun. I guess you choose to get amused with this place or angry; we have chosen the former, life is too short! There is a20 dollar cleaning charge, no one told us about that! You have to remove shoes immediately after stepping in and wait &or luggage to detoxify before taking it to your room! 3 hours! But the bed was lovely, we slept like children and tea and coffee were available. Breakfast we skipped it wasn’t a great choice. Would we book again? No, we prefer something more conventional, but we won’t forget this place either and we will smile when we do.

The location was close enough to the airport to be the perfect stopover on our way over to Vancouver Island. Our host was welcoming with a late check in ( 10.30pm ) and the toast and cereal breakfast hit the spot.

What is there not to like. We had a very warm welcome and we felt that we were more than just a paying customer. We were made to feel welcome.

Everyting was very good

Loved the location! Planes can be a little loud but I personally loved them. The woman was so cute and sweet and if she were my landlord, I would be the luckiest renter. Highly recommend this place, it is gorgeous.

I definitely did NOT like arriving and finding no host nor any access to accommodations I had already paid for despite my having twice given my arrival as between 6pm and 7pm more than 10 days prior (I arrived at 6:30 pm). I had recieved no message in reply as to a self check-in so was completely unprepared to find an empty house after getting off of a 16 hour flight from Vietnam. I was beyond exhausted. I walked around the entire home knocking on 4 different doors, but nothing, there was no one. I borrowed a neighbors wifi to look up the booking and called the host, she replied "I won't be there for awhile, we have gone out to get something to eat". At that point she informed me one of the 4 doors was unlocked. How was I to know? I had recieved no message informing me of such.during that last 10 days, a few words could have prevented me a lot of frustration and inconvenience. It was very off-putting being told three times in that same phone conversation to take off my shoes before I was even in the house. When the host arrived there was no greeting, no conversation or concern that I had been standing outside for 30 minutes, just immediately "Come to your room because we want to eat". Apparently my presence was in the way of that. It states in the booking that there are lounges and shared kitchen area, I was sitting at the kitchen table when they arrived, but was clearly not welcome there. I was also told that my luggage was not permitted upstairs in my room with me, it must remain downstairs (with your valuables unmonitored and unprotected). I took my luggage upstairs into my room, it does not sleep separate from me. I had to carry each piece up very steep narrow stairs even though the booking states that the entire unit is on ground level. A man had come home with her, but there was no offer of help, and you will be ordered to not have your luggage come in touch the floor on the way, she will watch to make sure this does not

this would have been a good review if it weren't for Vivian and pushing for unlawful payments. Unacceptable.

The breakfast was fine.

The location is close to the airport, the bed was comfortable, there was a bowl of sweets and a jug of water set out on my nightstand. The owner is personable.

Location to airport was the main reason for booking at this property. Didn't realise we would be getting a friend thrown in! Although I generally prefer simple, minimal surroundings, Royalty B& B is the most wonderfully eclectic mix of furnishings I have ever seen and the host is as friendly and welcoming as the accommodation is beautiful. Definitely worth the experience even if you are not flying the next day.
