“Lovely place, lovely staff.”

Lovely and available staff, above average generosity from the manager and staff, surrounded by banana trees, excellent location with public transport (colectivos) to nearby town Ponta do Sol and natural pools in Sinagoga. Thank you Casa Minga, we had a great stay!

“Perfect place if you don't mind having to climb several stairs to get to it”

The casa is in such a beautiful setting, the breakfast is very good and plentiful. The staff is really nice even if it is sometimes hard to communicate.

The papaya for breakfast was delicious. The owner is friendly and kind. I had a relaxing time. Hot water comes out. A good place for trekking. It's about a 20-minute walk from the town, and the stairs are a little tight. However, that is the uniqueness and highlight of this inn.

“Small price to pay for all that beauty”

One of the most beautiful locations for a hotel I have ever seen. Charming in many ways, serrounded by fields of sugarcane and bananas, fruit trees and steep rocky mountains. Clean and tidy, comfy rooms and helpful, kind stuff. Cannot recommend it enough.

Very good value for money, a good breakfast can be accommodated earlier on request, very friendly owner (speaks English, French, Portuguese and Kriol), beautiful location with a wooden bench or chairs outside to admire the views, good base to explore the xoxo valley if you don’t mind walking, strong wifi for the first 4 days, thereafter unavailable despite the owner’s best efforts to resolve, peaceful at night and a small shop available at the bottom of the steps. Note there are a lot of steps to reach the accommodation and the centre is a 30 minute walk away.

“The perfect hiking base!”

Amazing staff. Rufino took care of all transfers I needed, even walked down the road with me in the early morning hours I had to go to Porto Novo. Very good home made dinner and breakfast!

“Great place in beautiful nature”

Beautifully located private local guesthouse. The location is stunning. There is a lot to see and explore. Good hikes around. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the rooftop terrace is a big plus. The breakfast is very nice including peanut butter, some fresh fruits and an egg. We also got a vegetarian dinner for a fair price at the property. Next time we’ll definitely stay a few more nights.

The place is very nice to explore Sao Antao island. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast quite varied and abundant. The dinner is very large can be served in the structure. Very good ratio quality/cost.

The location was absolutely fantastic, in the middle of a stunning valley. Chilling on the sunbeds on the terrace was amazing, especially at night with the lights off. Only sounds of nature and stars. The rooms were simple but so clean and with everything you need, the staff was so sweet and caring, but never invasive. I had an incredible stay. It was hard to leave that place.

The host Rufino and his staff are excellent. The bedroom I slept in is nice. The whole accommodation is very clean and modern. The rooftop terrace is very cool with great views of mountains and stars at night. The breakfast was delicious. The optional dinner is also really nice and great value. Local fish and vegetables with rice. Very tasty!!

“Great place”

View is amazing! Waking up there is a pleasure. Clean, tidy, comfortable, earlier check in was an option, drying your laundry also available. Warm water , quite okey wifi . Good connection to bigger city and to the most beautiful village Xoxo. Owner is very friendly, speaks a few different languages, stuff also very nice. No airco but no difficulties to survive, all windows open and it worked good. Worth to visit
