Overview
Featuring a lounge, bar and a rooftop terrace with a city view, this eco-hostel is just a few steps away from Laugavegur, Reykjavík's main social hub. Weekly social events hosted on site are free for guests to join. Hallgrímskirkja Church is within 10 minutes’ walk. Free WiFi is offered throughout. At Loft Hostel, guests can choose between guest rooms with a private bathroom or dormitory quarters with shared bathrooms inside the room. Lockers and bed linen are included. The hostel is also certified as a fully accessible building. Staff is happy to give local recommendations for services, restaurants, and attractions Harpa Concert Hall is a 5-minute walk from Loft Hostel. Lækjartorg Bus Station is just 140 metres away. Car rentals can be arranged on site.

“Fabulous stay”
The location. Self check-in instructions excellent. Staff friendly. Clean, comfortable bed especially in the 4 bedder female dorm with private ensuite. Love the balcony but did not get to enjoy it as much as it is di popular in the afternoon. Will return if I come back to Reykjavik.

“Almost great”
Location is the best. Terrace when the weather is sunny. I stayed there for a week. It was more than okay. Highly reccomended but I believe that it can be better in some ways.

“Good location”
Very good hostel near the city centre and close to the main church. The kitchen is well equipped and the communication for checkin is clear. They provide the codes for the main entrance and other entrance beforehand

The hostel's shared bathroom is really spacious and clean--I think it's one of the nicest hostel bathrooms I have ever used. I also like the 'too go to go/leave behind' trolley in the corridor. It is a really well-thought-out initiative for letting guests leave food stuff or things that they don't need or can't finish anymore. The common area is so nicely decorated. I absolutely love the balcony. On the day of departure, there was an unexpected snowfall, and I thought I'd get stuck in Iceland. However, staff members were very helpful in checking the latest storm updates, room availability just in case and reassured me that it was 'just normal'. For the price I paid in the winter, I think it was cheap by the standard in Iceland!

“Great set-up in Reykjavik”
Loft is very much a hostel hostel with all the amenities for any traveller on a budget (which is most of us in Iceland). I was in an 8-bed room which is very roomy. The kitchen set up is great, but it's a little small especially in the morning rush. They encourage people to leave leftover food and supplies so rather than wasting them and throwing them out. Recycling is real here, it is fantastic to see. The cafe / sitting area is very roomy, but the only downside is it doesn't open until 8, so if you are up early you have to sit in the kitchen (this is why I only gave it a 9).
