The property 2km off the motorway, but there was no road noise . The owner was very informative and friendly , and there was a well stocked honesty bar . The room was great , super clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, great coffee and scrambled eggs !! Would highly recommend!!

“A perfect stay in a well appointed B&B.”

We decided to stay within a short drive of Turnhout in quiet surrounds. B&B Tantine is a gem, the property is surrounded by stunning, peaceful gardens, everyting is immaculately maintained and spotlessly clean. The centre of Retie is nearby Our room overlooked the garden, room was compact and well appointed with comfortable beds. Internet worked well. Breakfast is delicious and included eggs and bacon if desired, we especially enjoyed the locally made apple juice with lemon and ginger. The dining area is beautiful and I also enjoyed reading outdoors in the garden. The owners who hosted us were gracious and friendly. We noticed many people cycling in the area and this would be a perfect location to explore the area. I wish we could have stayed for more than 2 nights.

Friendly welcoming family run. Good amount of parking. Quiet residential area. Lovely gardens & excellent guest lounge/ bar. Comfortable room overlooking garden but very warm during night, opened window for ventilation as it had an insect screen but still managed to get 4 mosquitoes buzzing around in room ?!? ( Although did find an anti-mosquito plug which was provided in desk drawer)

Everything included the breakfast was good quality, great service. The hosts are super nice, we could take their personal bikes anytime for free.

The breakfast was really good, especially the variant of fresh apple juice. Lovely and clean room (+bathroom).

For our purposes the location was ideal being only minutes from the main highway. The property was spotless,the hosts very welcoming with very good English to counter our nonexistent Flemish. Lovely breakfast

Very friendly and helpful hosts and excellent breakfast, even though we had an early start.

This is the best B&B we have stayed in. Our hosts Koen & Lieve were so friendly, hospitable amd couldn't do enough to help us. It is beautifully decorated and the rooms are so comfortable, spacious with free coffee facilities, fresh cold water. We were able to use the microwave in the dining area. We felt like home away from home. Breakfast was the best we had in any hotel. Fantastic selection with fresh cooked bacon and eggs, home made yogurt and jams. Great parking on site. Supermarkets and restaurants a short drive away. I would highly recommend this B & B.

“Exceptional and stylish B&B which is excellent value for money”

The owners are very kind, subtly attentive and polite. The building and grounds are beautiful and extremely well kept. The rooms have very comfortable beds and pillows. All rooms have clever key fobs that work for the room and front door. There is a breakfast lounge come bar, which although I didn’t use it, in the evening you can have a drink and leave a note to say what you’ve had (I like this honesty system). The owners are clearly breakfast people and take huge pride in making it special and it really was. There was a lot to choice from and all clearly excellent quality food and drink. Afterwards I was also given two cakes with a takeaway bag, really nice touch. There is a coffee machine in the room with high quality cups which are branded and match the sugar and cream (I like those touches). They have animals (two goats and a donkey) in an adjacent field) so if you stay with children they will love that. There is an elegant style and attention to detail about all aspects of the place. I will definitely stay again, will look forward to it.

Location, Staff, general feel of the place & a great garden. It was nice to have a small bar area where you can sit either inside or outside on a deck where the breakfast was served. Easy to get to off the main road.

“Comfortable and friendly”

The location is easily accessible from the motorway, but not disturbed by traffic noise. The room was well-equipped, compact but very comfortable. Our host Koen provided a warm welcome and attended to all our needs. Breakfast was excellent too, and we felt very welcome as guests here.
