Wonderful accommodation for a family ski holiday. The hotel is in a quiet location, and there is a bus and ski bus stop right in front of the building, which is perfect for getting to the slopes. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, everything was very clean, and there was a cosy, homely atmosphere. The staff were very kind, helpful, and welcoming, so we really felt at home. For us, it was probably the best mountain holiday we have ever had, and we would love to come back.

Incredible Castle and very welcoming family. It sure is a very expensive task to maintain such wonderful historic site and humble to be able to stay there. Very recommended!

If you want a traditional Austrian stay in a stunning 600 year old castle in a beautiful location with welcoming attentive staff and great food… this is the place!

The atmosphere of a real castle was magic! We had a very spacious room that was rather reminding an apartment of a princess. I personally liked very fluffy duvets on the bed.

Great accommodation, in a really charming building. Definitely try it if you want a unique experience. Our room was spacious and really stylish. Parking was also well arranged. Breakfast was delicious.

We loved everything about our stay here! A stunning location, incredible property and wonderful staff. Parking was easy, hiking and biking routes were on the doorstep, the pool was refreshing, and we would have loved to stay longer, if we’d had the time.

A wonderful place for a vacation from the city bustle and all the disadvantages that come with the modern way of life. The accommodation is wonderful with a touch of the past where everyone can feel like a prince or princess. The breakfast was delicious, and the fruit was from the garden of the castle. Recommended for all lovers of antiques

This quaint, old-world castle was a charming place to stay & the hospitality was friendly, courteous & fun. The goulash-suppe was the best we EVER ate & the dining room was pretty. There’s a very comfy sofa in the ski boot room, typical of the attention given to detail in the castle.

Dinner was excellent with great service. Room was small in the annex building. Pool was not cleaned, no swimming becuase of the dirtiness.

Schloss Münicau is a secret gem close to the world renowned ski resort, Kitzbühl. It’s run by the wife and daughters of the founder who re built it with his own hands following a devastating fire many years ago. It oozes the traditional Austrian elegance and “old school” charm often lacking in more contemporary hotels. Plus the hosts famous 🇦🇹 Austrian “gastfreundlichkeit” or “friendly towards guests” that make a solo traveler or family feel that they’re home from home.
