“Beautiful house with fantastic views”

Location and views of the property are fantastic. The house is beautiful inside and well maintained. There were clear instructions about how to use everything.

This accommodation is exceptional as it is a very well preserved white manor house in the village where a lot of the cover photos from travel magazines like Lonely Planet, Geographic Channels are shot from the bridge just near it. There are also two bus stops in both directions very nearby. I even had the luck to witness two orcas as some passengers from two passing cars caught the sight of them and just stopped in the parking lot (same location as the bus stop) where/when I just got off the bus from a hiking tour one night. We climbed onto the rock at the beach near the village and I shot a video of the orcas. First time for me to see an orca! The owner has taken care to maintain and preserve cultural heritages as well as provide comfort for travelers with modern equipment and has even upgraded my room to a double one since I stayed a bit longer (but still not long enough:) What I find very unusual and memorable is the little booklet showing the history of the house, including one of the first telephones in Lofoten/Norway, which is displayed in the living room on the first floor. From both living rooms you can see the mini light tower (flashing indicating starboard/portside) embedded at the arc of the bridge below, where I observed also a bit closer during one kayak tour. Exactly the same view from my window but with aurora is also shown in the booklet, suggesting that I need to come another time to see the polar light! In the living room on the ground floor you have a nice view of the garden and I like the view with the dried stockfish hanging at the overhang, with seegull-shaped pendant lights at the front in the living room. It is really like a museum with a lot of details to discover.

Very well appointed kitchen. Everything you needed was there. Warm and cosy house with homely comforts. Bathrooms were clean, warm and excellent shower. Plenty of little extras that were good quality. Cannot fault anything.
