Calm homestay, friendly and helpful owner, fair price

Quiet place nestled in a neighbourhood very close to the city center. The family who runs the homestay is so lovely: Very attentive and welcoming. The place is very very clean.

We really enjoyed our stay in Ratnapura 🌿. The guesthouse was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with a super generous and delicious breakfast 🥭☕. The room didn’t have air conditioning, but after we asked, the host kindly provided us with an extra fan – such a thoughtful gesture 🙏. The location is easy to reach by tuk-tuk or public transport, and just a 15–20 minute walk from the center for dinner. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made everything even better. Highly recommended!

“Lovely Homestay”

We really enjoyed our stay. It felt just like home. The hosts were very kind and helped us in the morning sort our taxi. The room was very clean and had a cosy feeling to it. The bathroom was also good. Overall we had a great stay there and will definitely be staying there again when we return to the area!

The Summer Ridge Homestay is a really nice guesthouse with a super friendly and welcoming host family. The breakfast they prepared for us was very, very tasty and plenty. Their son Shawn showed us around Ratnapura and guided us on a day trip to visit a gem mine and a demonstration of gem processing. Additionally, we stopped at a beautiful waterfall for a swim. Very nice and quiet place in the nature but not to far from the center. From there you can do all the activities around Ratnapura. The room was super clean and comfortable. The family is friendly and very helpful, they tried me like a son. It was a special experience, thank you so much.

The owners are so kind and made us feel welcome and at home. The room was very clean and comfortable. We requested a breakfast and it was abundant and super delicious. Also the location is in a quiet area but on walking distance to the city center. This place is definately a hiddem gem!

“Beautifully clean and comfortable homestay”

Asoka and his wife were very hospitable and friendly hosts. The rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable The home stay is well located close to Ratnapura but in a peaceful jungle edge of the hectic city. Asoka took me on a fantastic trip to a local mine (reason for visiting Ratnapura) thank you! You can keep your own breakfast in the fridge and use the kitchen. There is no food available from the homestay but plenty of local restaurants to go to. The hosts have a big dog but she is kept separate to the homestay. Thank you for having us 🙏🏽

everything! Shehan and his parents are very welcoming family. We had an amazing staying at the home, the room was clean, quiet and cozy. Dinner , breakfast and lunch were also perfect. by the way Shehan speaks an excellent English, he helped us to get to mining gems farm and translated everything about this business worker told

Beautiful homey guesthouse. Very sweet family who owns it and they listen to reviews. Apparently someone wasn't comfortable with the matresses and pillows; they changed the pillows had a new matress waiting that day. And yes, these were very comfortable. Slept like a baby. Combined with the lovely breakfast and quite location made this a quality stay.

The host was very friendly and helpful. He took us to a mine for 8000 Lkr without transportation because we had our own Tuktuk. The host tried to answer all of our questions about mining and he was very patient. The bed was comfortable and in the family room there was a mosquito net over the big bed.

Guest go above and beyond for the guests! Entire family is very helpful and supportive! The homestay is very clean and comfortable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for your stay in Rathnapura!

Friendly family business

Since Ratnapura is a very busy city (loud and smelly), it,s nice to be in a quiet place away from the bustle of the town. Summer Ridge is a 12 minute walk away from a main street up on a green hill among tropical vegetation and fantastic birds. It,s nice and quiet. If you have a choice, take the room with the balcony.
