Overview
Palazzo Leopoldo is a majestic property made of a formerly a patrician villa dating back to 1310 and, adjacent to this, a historical building. It is set in the medieval centre of Radda, surrounded by the Chianti countryside. Free WiFi is available throughout. The large rooms of this ancient manor are uniquely decorated. The junior suites and the spacious suites come with original fireplaces and frescoes. Rooms are complete with a 32-inch LCD TV and free mineral water. At the wellness and fitness area you can enjoy massages, sauna, Turkish bath, sun terrace and a heated indoor swimming pool with hydromassage area. There are 2 outdoor hot tubs and a private spa area, bookable upon request. La Perla Del Palazzo, the hotel’s fine restaurant, provides tasty samples of Tuscan food, also served in the lush garden. Drinks are served on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Chianti hills. Property, upon reservation, offers cooking courses in the historic kitchen of the building and tastings in wine shop.

Right in the middle of the small town of Radda, not very easy to access with car and the parking is a bit off. The restaurant was very nice and the proprietor was a great host who also held a top class private wine tasting.

The hotel is located in the gorgeous village of Radda with a good selection of eateries and a small selection of shops with local goods. You will need a car to get around as there are no taxis! Plenty of vineyards around 10-20 minutes away.

It was older building that was nicely updated. It was the off-season, so getting a room was easy on short notice. They put on a very nice breakfast buffet for €13.

Palazzo Leopoldo Dimora Storica & Spa is a beautiful historic hotel located in the charming old town of Radda in Chianti. The hotel is wonderfully designed as a whole, offering excellent services. Perched on a hilltop, it boasts stunning views over the rolling hills of Tuscany. We stayed in the Suite Leopold, which was very spacious and beautifully decorated, featuring plenty of historical details of the building. The suite had comfortable beds and offered excellent value for money. Small dogs are also warmly welcome to stay. The hotel also features a lovely sun terrace with two jacuzzi, which can be reserved for private use for two hours – a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Tuscan sunshine. Guests also have access to a swimming pool located about five kilometres away, as well as to the hotel’s own indoor pool and spa facilities. Breakfast was tasty and varied, with eggs, bacon, cheeses, cold cuts, three types of juice, bread, delicious sweet pastries, jams, fresh fruit, and a tasty avocado spread for bread. The cappuccino was excellent and served to the table. The staff throughout the hotel were excellent and attentive, and the cleanliness was of a high standard. There is also a large free parking area, which is a great advantage. I warmly recommend Palazzo Leopoldo Dimora Storica & Spa to anyone visiting the area!
