“A comfortable nice place to stay”
The neighbourhood was nice and about a 20-25 walk to Old Town Quebec. The house was full of eclectic belongings including art deco pieces and antique roasters. The owner was friendly and somewhat eccentric. The rooms were quant and clean. He definitely knows how to cook and provided us with a filling and different delicious breakfast every morning. Would most likely come back to stay here again.

“Great location with wonderful service in exceptionally clean quarters at an affordable price!”
Jean, our host, greeted us with some juice and cookies and fruit when we arrived at 4pm. He prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning and even gave us some juice and cookies in the afternoon, as well as boiling up some water in the evening so we could enjoy a cup of tea. He was very helpful in telling us how the bus and weekend pass work and where to get one around the corner of his house at the grocery store. He also was very engaging to talk to, telling us about where he got some of his art deco pieces and showing his collection of antique toasters.

The best stay of our entire trip. The house is more than just a B&B, it's almost a museum of Art Deco. Even the single rooms have a theme that is followed down to the last detail. Jean is the nicest host you can imagine. He is considerate, friendly and helpful, yet keeps to the background. He's as passionate a collector as a host. Did I even mention the excellent breakfast, with daily variations?

“Don't miss the chance to stay Aux Années Folles !”
We were truly surprised by the warm and generous welcome from Jean Daoust. Upon our arrival, we immediately engaged in a friendly conversation about the culture and history of Quebec. His home is located slightly outside the city center, but conveniently close to a bus station that takes you directly downtown. Breakfast was excellent and varied each day. The room was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi connection was reliable. Jean was exceptionally kind—he lent me a raincoat and umbrella for a rainy cold sightseeing day. He also went out of his way to mail me a forgotten mobile phone while I was in Toronto and preparing to return to France. I highly recommend his place!

The owner is a rare find in Quebec. Such a warm person and this heritage house with loads of vintage stuff. Feels like living in that era.

“visiting Quebec”
Aux Années Folles is a B&B, the house itself, as the name says, is completely in the style of the roaring 20's. The host Jean, is really helpfull in giving advice and guidance to get into the city. this takes about 20 minutes by bus and is by far the easiest way in and out of Quebec. For those liking personal contact, breakfast in the livingroom, this is a place to go.

“Great location, friendly and welcoming host, unique 1920s theme. Wonderful experience.”
Mr Daoust is incredibly hospitable. He was kind to meet us for a late check-in with a yummy snack, juice, and welcoming conversation. The entire 1920 theme was seen all around the house, which was very charming. Perfect location to all the attractions (~10-20min away from downtown, Montmorency falls, etc). Breakfast was delicious (french toast and fruit one day, sunnyside eggs and bacon the next) and thoughtful, special care from Mr Daoust was taken for my gluten allergy.

“History Buffs Delight”
Very cool Art deco house..a step back in time right down to the hair dryer! The host was passionate about his house and collections. The lamps alone are worth the price of admission and if you love toast you are going to the right place. His toaster collection is museum worthy and useable. Loved that we ate off his deco dishes! A few Art deco pieces were even for sale...a place to sleep, eat and shop. (Breakfast was excellent) What more can you ask for!! The host embraces well behaved dogs with open arms.
