Recently stayed at ecomama and highly recommend it! Rahman and his family made our stay wonderful. For an extra fee he picked us up and dropped us back off in Quba. Rahman and his daughter Nubar speak English well. His wife cooks great food for dinner and breakfast. They have plenty information about the area and hiking. There is a western toilet and shower outside in the courtyard. We were there in summer but it still gets chilly over night. There are plenty blankets in the room to keep you warm.

This guy threatened me with his family, I had to flee from the village, crazy. I never gave bad points to any acconodation where I have ever been (in more than 100 places). But this guy deserved it.

This is a wonderful homestay and the village is located in a very beautiful spot in the mountains. For an extra fee they will pick you up in Quba. Just the road to the village is so beautiful. The hosts are very helpful and kind. The food is very good. The room is cozy and warm even if it´s cold outside.

When I arrived at the house, Rafman's wife and daughter are warmly and kindly to welcomed me with a cup of tea and snacks.I stayed here alone but they set a delicious meal and I ate with other guests or daughter, which didn't make me feel alone.Dolma was very tasty. I went hiking on the mountain and saw beautiful view. If I visit this village,I'll stay here.Thank you so much.

Comfortable and spacious room. Pleasant and helpfull host, good breakfast. Their dog was with us the whole time while we exlored Khinaliq village. Highly recommend.

“Authentic Stay in Xinaliq with Excellent Hosts”

Staying in a house of this kind in the village of Xinaliq is a truly unique experience (3 nights in our case). This stay cannot be compared to others – it’s more about connecting with nature and traditional village life than enjoying urban comforts. Facilities are above the village standard (like hot water shower). The owners are exceptional – very helpful and welcoming. They organized transportation from and to Quba (65/60 manat). Breakfasts are made from local products, and I also highly recommend ordering lunch (15 manat). Tea from the samovar is a real treat. You can communicate in both English and Russian (unless you prefer speaking in the local village language… ;)) Internet works well if needed. In the village, there are two small but quite well-stocked shops, one even offering alco. The area offers great opportunities for hiking. Overall, this is an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it.

Very good homestay, great value for money. Lovely friendly family, excellent food prepared on request for lunch and dinner, breakfast included in the great price. The scenery is truly spectacular. No shower facilities, but for 2 days/nights this isn't an issue!

The accommodation is the perfect choice for experiencing life in the mountains of Azerbaijan as authentically as possible. The beds are super comfortable and the hosts very friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The host family were really friendly and they have a lovely dog who accompanied us on our hike one day! The home cooked meals were delicious and the portions were plentiful. A must visit in Azerbaijan for beautiful mountain scenery and relaxation. We were able to arrange pick up and drop off from Quba with the hosts which was more affordable than tourist taxis.

I loved my stay at Ecomama. Xinaliq was the highlight of my trip to Azerbaijan. The stay is in a family house and I was actually sleeping in the dining room that was outfitted with two beds. I couldn't complain about the lack of chairs! The toilet is merely a squat toilet outside and the shower is accessed by going through the family room but this was all fine with me. The owner is in the process of building a new toilet/shower building. The place hosts lunches for tour groups coming by in the afternoon. Dinners were good with large portions and cost 12 manat. The area is beautiful and I loved walking the hills. The granddaughter was a real sweetheart and surprisingly spoke really good English considering she is only six. I did have some problems getting there. I arrived in the afternoon at the Xinaliq taxi stand and all the drivers were asking 80 manat (I was travelling alone). I called Rehman at Ecomama and he arranged a ride for 60 manat. The road from Quba to Xinaliq has a washed out bridge and some tourists were driven to the washout, walked across the river on a steel girder and picked up on the other side. I was driven there via Qusar and the road is quite spectacular, going high over the mountains. Paved as well. To be honest, all along the way I was thinking that 80 manat would have been fine as well for this drive especially if splitting the cost.

Super one-off experience with a local family who are responsible for the local tourism and status of the village. So accommodating, amazingblocation, great dinner and breakfast and so cheap too. Wonderful time spent and great to actually spend time with local people.

Rahman is a very interesting person. He ensured that I'm comfortable all the time, in a freaking -14 temperature. He's a gem of a person and his wife too!

Super hearty people and you feel like you are part of the family. Very good breakfast and great activities arrangements at very affordable prices.
