Location was perfect for us to spend a night before going down the hill to Bella Coola. The view of the lake and the fact that the Pelicans nest there was very interesting!

Our cabin was super clean and ready when we arrived. Nice and quiet stay .

The grounds were fantastic. Wildlife abounds. Bears, fishing, waterfowl, etc. We weren't there to participate in those activities and had a tight schedule so maybe another time I'd enjoy those more.

The small cabins had ample space for the two of us. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking options with coffee and tea available. I did find the coffee machine quite dirty with some mold, but a good cleaning and the morning coffee was great to look out over the lake. The two single beds suited the single bedroom for space, and the couch had an additional bed if needed. The resort is on Puntzi lake and if you fish, it is a great spot. The cabin is a nice retreat from the elements, and even in the hot weather a cross breeze was decent to keep the place cool. The cabin had an electric fireplace for cool nights if needed. The grounds are decently maintained and there is lots of space for the kids to play or people to relax by their campsite or the lake. There were around 15 campsites and 5 cabins, so the place is not huge which leaves space for everyone with some great sites along the shore for trailers. Horseshoe pits and a small little tykes play set are all that are there for entertainment, but there is plenty of space to set up ladder ball or other games with friends. We came after the annual fishing derby and the place was very quiet for the days we stayed. The operators were awesome! They were open and friendly with an ease for advice to tour the area. It helped to know where to go since their back road knowledge kept us off some closed roads. As well, they provided details on Tatlayoko Lake which was awesome and a great trip to see. The lake is glacier fed, so was cool to swim in but refreshing. As well, they have kite surfers on the lake if you want to view some action. The BC Recreation Site on Tatlayoko is well sheltered amongst trees and a great camping spot. However, the old mill site by the lake has better access for swimming or boats and that is a short drive from the Rec site. Puntzi lake is decent, but Pyper Lake about 20 minutes away is a good swimming spot with sand.

We knew the location was beautiful and it was. The grounds and facilities are very well maintained. The hostess is warm , friendly and accomodating. Cabins are very clean. I would stay again.

The location is perfectly located on the lake. You have various option to spend your time, fishing, hiking, boat riding, watching Pelicans and way more. The facility offers sport and playground equipment, if needed.

We had a great stay at Barney's at Puntzi lake. Hosts Shannon and Skip are very friendly and helpful. The cabin was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The lake is great with pelicans and loons. The sunsets were stunning.

It was our first time visiting Barney's Resort. After we booked through booking.com I had called the resort to make sure that I knew what was included in the cabin, at that time she did say the cabins were rustic. Shannon was very good and friendly when we spoke on the phone and the same when we met her in person. If it wasn't a 12 hour drive we would definitely stay again.

Bernie lake there are cabins. There is no breakfast, did have a full kitchen. However they do not have any fans in any of the rooms, and for sure one in the main common area would be great. And perhaps screen doors Unfortunately this is more of a boaters paradise, as swimming simply is not possible offshore. Lots of wonderful places to sit around and enjoy the lake. Loons and one of the worlds only nesting site for pelicans. Please pack the bug spray 🤦🏻‍♀️Wi-Fi is only available in the office or in one of the bigger cabins. Overall we enjoyed our trip.

I booked this online, I am old school and I would normally like to talk to the people when booking accommodations like this. The cabin was comfortable once the temperature cooled down at night. I was a little taken back when I found out about the two single beds in the cabin instead of a double bed. But they turned out to be very comfortable. The deck on the the cabin was not in great shape, but |I know there is only so much the owners can do especially during this crazy time we have been going through. revenue must be down from what it should be.
