“A truly unique experience!”

We received such a warm welcome from Franco and his family. The bedroom was huge with seating areas and a bath and of course a stunning view of the lake. The home cooked meals were delicious. We enjoyed learning about and meeting members of the Uros community.

Location is peaceful, beautiful and pretty unique. Franco and his family are excellent hosts - generous and attentive without being intrusive. Appreciated the offers to arrange transfer to/from the airport, and the boat-taxi service around the lake when necessary. Arranged a day trip to Taquile Island, and a trip in his traditional boat to explain Uros history and traditions of their way of life. Franco’s English is excellent so conversation was easy and I could learn more from him. Feels like a much more wholesome experience having stayed on the lake to experience this unique way of life, rather than day-tripping from the mainland. A definite highlight from the last couple of weeks in this beautiful country.

You might be skeptical when booking a place that promises to show you the authentic life of a people — fearing it could feel staged. But here, the opposite was true. We had an amazing time. The accommodation on the water was extraordinary, and it beautifully shows how this unique tradition has been — and hopefully will continue to be — passed down from generation to generation. You learn so much about the life, culture, and everyday routines of the Uros, and you’re treated to wonderful home-cooked meals. In between, you simply relax, taking in the breathtaking view of the lake — or the sight of an incredible starry sky. There’s so much more one could add, but in short: an unforgettable experience. “A magical place. Don’t miss it!”

This is a very special place surrounded by very kind people. Make sure you bring warm clothes to fully enjoy the magic. The rooms are decorated with lots of style and good quality material/furniture. The rooms are spacious with big bathrooms and a terrace to watch the sun go down. There is also a huge sofa in the other direction with big windows where you can watch the sunrise. The beds are very comfortable, actually the most comfortable we’ve had throughout our weeks in Peru. Even from the beds the view is stunning. Also, the food was outstanding. Willie explained a lot about Uros history and culture. Sara and Willie’s love to detail made our stay on their floating island a very special experience, also for our kids. If you’re thinking about whether you should or not stay with them, don’t hesitate for a minute. You won’t regret it. I wish we could have stayed much longer. Thank you for the magic!

“Incredible views, sensational views - an unforgettable stay!”

The views from the property were sensational. You could spend hours watching the ducks floating past. The room was enormous and the bed was so comfortable. There was a heater for when the temperature dropped after sunset. Franco provided us with breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was excellent! He also accommodated some special requests to make our stay more memorable. On our second day, he also took us on a tour of the Uros islands and told us about the history of the community and how the islands were created.

Franco & Henny are the most wonderful hosts. We felt warmly welcomed but, more importantly, learned much from them about their culture. The uros is set in a peaceful part of the lake. The accommodation is lovely.

Magic. Only word I can use to describe this experience. The place was so comfortable and beautiful. Our host Franco and his family were absolutely wonderful. The place was only for my family of 4. You get to be part of a local family but with all the comfort and luxury that they provide. The food(breakfast, lunch and dinner) and activities are included in the price and what a great food! Franco explained everything about the way of living of Los Uros. You can’t miss this opportunity if you ever at Peru stay in this place. Have visited and stayed in so many places around the world. This was the best one by far!

“Best accommodation on Lake Titicaca!!!”

This property is a paradise! We loved it so much! The bathroom is simple, there is only cold water at the sink, but there is hot water at the shower! In the evening it is painful to shower because of the cold, but in the morning when the sun shines into the bath, it is not cold at all. The room has a gas heater which makes it very warm, and the blanket is thick, so if you don't shower in the evening, you won't feel cold. Franco is a very good and kind host! It is a great experience to just sit on the terrace in the sun and listen to the noise of the animal world. Very relaxing. We also loved the boat tour, you won't meet dozens of tourists during it, but the program is just for you. Great!

Willy and his lovely family bent over backwards to accommodate us and make our short time in the lake one of the highlights of our trip. The breathtaking view and the explanations about Uros culture will remain a treasured memory for us.

“Unforgettable experience on a floating island on Titicaca lake”

Staying on an Uros floating island on Titicaca lake is an unique experience but what differentiate this property from the others is Franco and his little family!! Franco is super responsive on questions before arrival and during the stay he is a great host. Offering nice activities like kayaking, boat trips to the Uros community and also a sailing on a traditional raft. That was a wonderful opportunity to discover much more on how the Uros community lives, how they build, and maintain the floating island (as it requires monthly loading of new reeds). His wife is taking care of the food (I had a nice breakfast) but they propose also lunch and dinner. I can only recommend and you will have a great experience.

“Absolutely stunning experience”

Of all the maybe more then 100 hotels I’ve stayed in over the years using booking, this was by far the most spectacular experience. Franco and his wife were extremely careful, nice and knowledgeable about their Uros culture. The house is like the most luxurious honeymoonsuite and the location is absolutely stunning. Do yourself a favor and go there

We (family 15-62 years) stayed on this traditional Uros with Willie and his family. He shared a lot about the culture of the Urus. Food was great. The boat ride through the Uros was wonderful and even gave us some insights into the current life of the community. We enjoyed a spectacular sunrise from the observation deck and later from the couch of our room. An unforgettable experience! Thank you Willie.

“An amazing and unique place to stay”

I rarely write reviews, unless the place is really good, or really bad. This place was absolutely outstanding and one of the most memorable stays we’ve had in nearly a year travelling in South America. Franco and his family were incredibly kind and welcoming, the food was delicious and the room was unbelievably luxurious, considering it’s floating in a lake at 3,800 metres altitude! I highly recommend staying here.

Our stay here was incredible- so memorable! The room had an unbeatable view and Franco, our host was so kind and informative. We got to learn about the culture while staying in a luxurious suite. And Franco’s family was wonderful to meet-my daughters were so thankful to meet and play with Cathy (a girl their age)- Cathy, Keira says hi!! ❤️ Really an experience we will never forget!
