Umami is a lovely modern and clean hotel in a great location. It’s a few minutes of walk from the restaurants, shops and the beach. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and helped us organise a transfer back to San Jose. A big thank you to Ray and the team. The breakfast at the hotel was also great. We’d recommend Umami if you’re in Puerto Viejo!

Good location Close to the centre but slightly set back. The hotel is small but very beautifully laid out.

The hotel was beautiful however alot of things need fixing up and were unsteady and broken.

We chose the hotel due to the location and pictured. It was not so central / directly to the main street, but it was not so far from it. Parking directly outside of the main entrance. The infrastructure is very warm and welcoming. The design is modern and clean. Unfortunately nothing positive remaining.

Very friendly and supportive staff and cute facilities. Some minutes walk to the beach with many restaurant options.

We stayed in a two bed apartment which was very comfortable and had large living space. Bed was massive in one of the rooms (200cm wide). Could cook if you wanted to. Nice boutique hotel. Had a nice massage from Angel she was amazing!! Location was good walkable to restaurants and no noise from the town.

The location was excellent, away from the main road but still close to all the restaurants and bars. The staff were really friendly and helpful with suggestions of were to eat and excursions. Thanks bracheal and tony.

Gorgeous hotel right near town, lovely rooms, comfy beds, beautiful pool. Staff were so kind and always happy to help, breakfast was delicious and we would definitely return. Would recommend eating at the local Thai restaurant and Koki beach. We went for new year and the party on the beach at jonnys place was so much fun. We also used the garage on the corner to fix a flat tyre.
