“Perfect stay for puerto veijo no matter who you are.”

Starting with the rooms. The aircon was brilliant, the bed was incredibly comfy! Best nights sleep we had on our three week trip around Costa Rica. Modern decor with lovely lighting and the private balcony was perfect for drinks in the evening playing cards. Fridge was a great extra, we kept cold beers, wine and ingredients for cooking. Also the complimentary laundry service was a god send. Very quick and clothes back folded on the same day. The shared kitchen was great, everything you needed to cook whatever you wanted and jt was always very clean. Complimentary coffee was very tasty too. The pool was a great temperature and the sun loungers were really comfortable. The fans above the sun lounges were also amazing on the hot humid days. The location is perfect if you want to walk into town and get drinks, food or visit the beach. There is a lush bakery right at the end of the road which is good anytime of day. The owners are a wonderful family. Super accommodating and friendly. Gave us great advice about where to go and things to do.

We loved our stay from the moment we arrived. The place is small-scale, peaceful and very well maintained. Everything feels clean and safe. The rooms are beautiful, fresh and bright. The pool is great. The kitchenette has everything you need to cook. The service is excellent: daily cleaning, free laundry and beach/pool towels. The owners are very friendly and always available. The location is amazing: surrounded by nature, with howlermonkeys in the morning. The village is 600 meters away. We used the car because of our 2-year-old, but you can also walk or rent bikes in the village for a low price. Puerto Viejo and Black Bamboo: thank you! Four nights became six 😁

Easy to walk to everything so great location but quiet and secluded. Lovely balcony. Had a swim in the pool before breakfast and going out for the day. Walked to Playa Negra and Mamzanillo surfing beach. Saw sloths in trees at the front of the hotel. Friendly and helpful host.

Beautiful, clean, walking distance to downtown Puerto Viejo. The kitchen with breakfast-essentials was great. We even got a little surprise in our room since it was our honeymoon, which made it feel extra special.

We really enjoyed our stay at Black Bamboo. Tonet & Nadia are exceptional hosts who made sure we felt welcome and were available all the time throughout our stay. The room was cleaned every day and laundry service was included, which was very valuable for us as a family with a small kid. The hosts even offered us sweet pancakes for breakfast some of the days, which was a very nice gesture. They also helped us figuring out the transport from San Jose to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and connecting us with the driver directly, which was very helpful. All in all our stay has been great and we highly recommend Tonet and Nadia’s Black Bamboo for a nice and relaxing stay on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.

It’s beautiful and the owners go out of their way to make you feel comfortable . Very clean , the availability to use aircon or fan is nice (I mostly prefer fan) and the water filter system for nice cold and hot water

“Perfect stay for some time in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca”

Very nice small scale accommodation, beautiful room and bathroom, very clean. A porch/balcony to enjoy your own breakfast or a nice cold beer. There is a common kitchen area where some free coffee and cereals are provided. There is a swimming pool and they provide clean towels. Washing is included as well. Close to the beach, just 600m down the road. We really enjoyed staying at this place!

“Stellar stay in a quiet environment, highly recommended!”

Absolutely stellar! The rooms are lovely, clean and spacious; exactly as depicted. You get your own clothesline to dry your clothes outside, there is a well-equipped outdoor kitchen and a pool in great condition. Also, there is a free laundry service EVERY day, you will find your clothes folded up tidely on your bed when you come back from your day trip. The hosts, Nadia and Tonet, are very friendly and helpful, for example they hooked us up with a trusted tuk-tuk driver for tranfers.

Black Bamboo is absolutely idyllic! It's quiet, calm, friendly and their service is attentive. The free laundry service was such a great touch and the pool was so clean and refreshing. The kitchen is well equipped and the rooms are super clean and spacious. We took a private tour with the owners friend which was an awesome day filled with fishing (we caught 2 big baracuda and 8 lobsters), snorkling (we saw a shark, 2 sting rays and load of beautiful fish!) and hiking through the jungle (we saw sloths, a camen, basilisk lizzards, butterflies, plants and much more!) Thank you Black Bamboo!

Definitely a place I can recommend, but I just want to put the early excellent comments in perspective (not saying they are wrong) Positive: Only 4 units, open air common area for breakfast or similar; nice pool, additional pool/beach towels. Nice garden

“Amazing facility would definitely recommend”

The place itself and the room was very pretty and clean. Every morning the staff came in cleaned and replaced the sheets and towels. In the entrance there is a cooler with fresh clean water so we didn't need to buy a lot of water. And the air conditioner was a life saver!
