“Top Spot”

The hotel had an eye-catching, interesting design that instantly appealed to my taste. Staff were very friendly and hospitable. Access to the beach and boardwalk were literally a stone's throw away from the property. Perfect location for a few days in paradise!.

“Jungle tree house with very friendly staff”

The architecture makes it different from all the other hotels in the area . It has a very special “tropical-jungle” touch. Armando was very very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Location: two steps from the beach, the restaurants, the “malecón” and the “plaza”.

“An authentic experience in a very special environment”

This is a very unexpected property full of charm in the middle of Puerto Morelos and very near of the beach. All the bedrooms are different and decorated in a mexicain style with beautifull wooden pieces. But one of the result of the good location is that some bedrooms may be very noisy because of the city traffic . The breakfast is freshly prepared and different each day but is a little bit too late at 9.

Magical Gilligan's Island type getaway with a touch of Gaudi. There's only one of these, that's for sure. The breakfast was fantastic. Individually made tortilla espanol with tomatoes cooked in basil, an array of fresh fruit to start, and great coffee. The kitchen staff were warm and friendly too.

Amazing architecture which makes the stay worthwhile. Well situated and very close to all restaurants, beach and activities. A little noise but nothing extreme where my room was situated. Breakfast was ok but served too late.

“Quirky and interesting but...”

La Quinta Orquídea must have been fantastic when it first opened. It's a truly original design - like some kind of crazed adobe fairytale tepee held together by wood plaster and old wine bottles. There's not a straight line in the entire building. If Tim Burton designed a hotel this would be it. I stayed 3 nights in a roof top turret with private bathroom and balcony. Bed was comfortable no ac but room fan. Breakfast in the courtyard was different tasty Mexican fare every day and - served by friendly chap in rather fetching hygiene hairnet! Its location is just off the main plaza in the centre of town. The beach is five minutes away and there are many bars and restaurants on the streets running parallel. There is also a large (pricey) supermarket nearby on the opposite side of the plaza. Collectivos (shared vans) for La Colonia and the highway (for Cancun or PDC) stop on the corner. There is also a convenience store on the same spot.

The property was so unique as it was built by a Mexican architect and the staff were fantastic. Loved all the attention to detail and the location was perfect.

“Bohemian paradise for the right price”

Absolutely loved staying in this little bohemian slice of paradise. Comfy bed, charming spacious room with chairs, tables and hamac and the breakfast that is included is hearty and delicious. Place was clean, staff was kind and unobtrusive. I was in room 6 which is a bit more rustic but I enjoyed being set back from the road. For anyone with mobility issues though, contact the hotel and be sure to book the downstairs room as all other rooms have a lot of stairs. Recommended to anyone who enjoys an accommodation that is out of the ordinary. It's a very special place and I plan to come back!
