“Amazing stay in a beautiful location with a wonderful family”

We stayed at Majacho’s house for 2 nights with my parents and had an exceptional time. The location is beautiful with river views wherever you are on the property, the casita’s are very cute, comfortable and clean (and upkept on a daily basis). The highlight of our stay was the hospitality of the family. Rafa knows so much about the nature/animals and is happy to help plan for all tour tours and transport and Carmen makes the most delicious food. They are incredibly kind and we have felt at home and so well taken care of during our stay, we were sad to leave! The dogs were also very nice. We will definitely be back and recommend a stay here!

We travelled central and South America for 2 1/2 months and this was one of our favourite if not our favourite place to stay. Rafa and his family are so sweet! You can book tours with him at a very fair rate. He will take you on his boat on the river during the evening to look for capybara‘s and Caymans and you can see how much he loves the animals. He knows a lot about the plants and the animals and he is genuinely happy to tell you about those things. His wife’s mother will cook for you every day completely fresh everything organic everything from a few metres away fresh juice every day. It feels like you are staying at your friends place and not at some place you pay for. If you want to visit Puerto Maldonado, you have to stay there believe me! Rafa is a great guy! “Great experience”

The jungle experience was amazing. It was a bit of a shock when we first arrived how basic everything was and how many bugs were flying around including bats frogs and spiders but we soon adjusted. The food served to us was delicious and healthy. The family were very accommodating.The tours organised there were great and such reasonable price. If you want a real jungle/ amazon feel this is the place to go.

This is a small family-run business where everyone is incredibly warm and welcoming, always making an effort to ensure guests have a great stay. The tours with Rafa were excellent, and he also helped organize other tours for us even when he wasn’t guiding them himself. The food was delicious and varied, although the side dishes were often the same. We also appreciated that we could refill our water bottles for free at any time. The accommodation is surrounded by nature right by the river, which gave us a truly authentic Amazon experience.

Everything :) in particular the location as it is right on the river with a lovely view from our hut and dining area. Rafael and his family were extremely warm and welcoming and his tours exceeded expectations. He has a neighbour that hi brings on for english speakers who is lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. The cooking as well is delicious. Cant have asked for a better stay in the Amazon.

The stay at Rafa and his family was nothing short of amazing. Although there was somewhat of a language barrier it felt like a second family for a few days. The effort that Rafa made to make us feel at home, the love that he showed for the environment and the wonderful personal tours he provided. On top of that his wonderful mother made lovely meals and even made some delicious salsa for us while we left. Big bonus was their lovely dogs. 10/10 experience!

The property is surrounded by nature with a lovely host family. Raffael and Alex will ensure you are looked after and have everything you need, whilst Carmen will cook you amazing breakfast, lunch and dinners that are local oriented using fruits and vegetables from their land and local markets. “I would recommend it if you are after an authentic, close to nature stay at the Anazon.”

Rafa and his family made sure our stay was welcome and comfortable as much as possible. We attended the sunset tour with Rafa and tour guide Richard on arrival, and we got to see beautiful river sunset, Caimans, Capybaras, water birds. Richard even caught a baby Caiman and showed us the details before releasing it back to the river. The following days Rafa helped with tour schedule for Sandoval Lake which was a full day trip, the Chuncho Macaw clay licks trip, the Yacumama Lake Piranha fishing, and the last day we did the two hours jungle walk with Rafa and Richard when he showed us lots of jungle knowledge and shared tasty fruits. All of them were fun and informative. We got to see lots of animals. Rafa also showed us the two-toed sloth at night near his property, and night monkeys on his property. We appreciate his hospitality and the nice meals cooked by his family and fresh juice with every meal. All the tour guides we had including Richard were friendly and easygoing. The stay was enjoyable and their four furry friends are so cute too! We also saw fireflies around the bunglow at night time. There is no hot water and air-con but hey this is the Amazon. And we appreciate what was provided and available to us. The tiny frogs living in the toilet cistern was a surprise but it didn’t bother us.

Strategic location for tourist activities and amazing connection to nature for relaxation. It is surrounded by a lot of flora and fauna. The bungalows are cozy, clean and with great view to the river. Food excellent and prepared with local products. Rafael is an expert host, we learned so much about wild animals and medicinal plants. He is very friendly as well as all the staff.
