Don Jaime is such a nice and hospitality guy, you have the best view here with Amazon river and also animals, the breakfast and dinner are super delicious too!! Highly recommend!

Don Jaime was the perfect base for my Amazon adventure away from the city allowing you to immerse into nature. I wanted a base within the amazon without booking a tailored expensive multi day tour, this delivered and more. Jaime is a great host, he offers all the tours that travel agents do and you can book the day before or you can choose to chill on the hammock or deckchairs and just relax in the amazing location. But what really sets this apart is how they go above and beyond, Jaime came to find me and showed me some snakes, this was not part of a tour but just wanting to share the amazing location they live in! If you want an amazon experience with good people, with all the same tours as expensive operators for a good price then book Don Jaime.

“Monkey Sounds On a Budget”

If you’re trying to live out your Amazon jungle dreams without dropping $500 on a two-night “eco-experience,” this place is an absolute gem. We searched high and low for something that wouldn’t bankrupt us, and this spot came through like a machete clearing a budget-friendly trail through the overpriced wilderness. Okay, it’s not deep-deep in the jungle, but close enough that you’ll be falling asleep to the sweet sounds of monkeys, frogs, and probably at least three creatures you’ll never identify. The rooms are basic but charming, think jungle hut with mosquito nets and open-air walls so nature can whisper you bedtime stories. What we loved most? No overpriced cookie-cutter itinerary. You get a list of activities and pick what you actually want to do. Jungle hike? Sure. Night safari? Yes, please. Sitting in a hammock questioning your life choices? Also an option. Everything was affordable and surprisingly well-organised (shoutout to Jaime, you’re the real MVP). Would definitely recommend if you want the jungle experience without the jungle price tag. Bring bug spray and a sense of adventure.

Don Jaime was so helpful and kind. he went out of his way to make his guests comfortable and would come and find us when there were monkeys or sloths in the trees. There are cheap and accessible tours to go on as well. I was the only person on the boar tour looking for caymans and capybara - it was amazing! I really recommend staying here.

Great location, and Jaime is a fantastic host. The tours they run are well priced and I especially enjoyed the capybara and caiman search. The view of the river is breath taking. Great value for money.

“Great place to go!”

A very cozy and relaxing place. The owner is very nice and receptive, helped us with everything we asked for during and before the stay. The beds are super comfy and have mosquito nets. On the back of hostel you can have a privileged view of the Tambopata river.

“Beautiful location with river views”

The staff are very friendly and try to help with queries and anything needed. The property is next to the river with nice views. There is 2 hammocks next to the river with great views. There is run around chickens which give it a very natural vibe. There is also a nearby restaurant and a small shop selling water and drinks. It is a nice place for chilling out.

Don Jamie was an excellent host, the hostel is on the bank of the river, so you get a great view only 30secs from cabin. You can order food, which was tasty and really good value for money. Jamie also help organise different trips.

“Great value for money - retreat in the Amazon”

The owner is really friendly and will help you book tours. The room and private bathroom were big, and there was a nice little porch to relax. We mostly ate at the property, and the prices were really fair for what we got. We also went piranha fishing with the owner and his friend and that was really fun!

“Jungle stay”

Had a wonderful couple of nights staying at Jaime hostel. Wonderful tropical sounds. Our room was large and airy with screens to keep out all the insects. Comfortable verandah also seating overlooking the river. Saw tamarin monkeys and lots of birds. Jaime is a wonderfully kind host showing us around his garden and to a nearby lookout tower pointing out flora and fauna. As we were catching an overnight bus to Cusco we were able to have a very late check out. WiFi was good. We thought the restaurant was open every day, this wasn't the case. However there was another restaurant and a little shop nearby.

“True jungle experience with fabulous hosts”

We loved our stay here - the business was family run and everyone was so friendly. They helped us with everything we needed! We’d especially recommend the night tour as the guide was very knowledgeable on all the wildlife and we saw a lot of really cool things. Thank you Don Jaime!

Very friendly, helpful and accommodating hosts. The food is delicious and the portions are huge so you will not go hungry! WiFi was good. Very good value for money.

Beautiful hostel in the jungle next to the river. Great rooms with all the equipment. Equipped kitchen to cook while you're staying. Don Jaime is absolutely the best, kindest person and amazing host. Absolutely recommend!!

Very friendly staff Good location, next to the river

We loved staying here! it’s a bit far from the center but Don Jaime can call taxi/tuc tuc, prepare breakfast and lunch or dinner, and plan your tours. We literally did nothing ourselves. Also, the river is visible from the property, it’s possible to sit in front and enjoy the view. And Don Jaime and his family are amazing people, it was a pleasure to stay there.

“beat hostal in Puerto Maldonado!”

Beautiful hostal in the jungle. The rooms are well equipped (e.g. mosquito nets around the beds to protect from mosquitoes), and the staff was wonderful. The excursions organised were also great, and the meals were delicious. Highly recommend.

The Rooms are very cute and moskito save! The Internet works, also for streaming. The kitchen is good. You can book your tours in the hostel. We had a good time!
