Overview
Hotel Mitra, Story Hotels is located beneath the castle within the old town of Slovenia's oldest city, Ptuj. It offers spacious, elegantly decorated rooms and houses Ptuj's oldest coffee house. The coffee house dates back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire and serves excellent coffee with freshly baked treats. Homemade traditional Slovenian sweets like Haloska and Prleska gibanica are worth trying. Buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room and Hotel Mitra, Story Hotels has a wine cellar with some wines originating in 1917. The Mitra is close to numerous swimming pools and spa centres with massages. Ptuj also has a golf course for golfing fans.

A very pleasant stay in the heart of a historic town. The hotel exceeded our expectations – from the beginning, the staff was kind and attentive, taking great care of us throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent, varied, and high-quality. The room was air-conditioned, with a comfortable non-separated double bed and a modern, clean bathroom – truly comfortable and well-maintained. A big highlight was the private wellness area, which offers complete privacy and peace for relaxation. For €25 per person for 2.5 hours, you get access to two saunas, a jacuzzi, and a cozy relaxation zone. We thoroughly enjoyed it – a perfect way to unwind. The location is great, just a short walk from landmarks like Ptuj Castle and the town center. Even during the peak season, we had no issues with parking – the hotel provides several parking spots right in front. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for comfortable accommodation with excellent service and a relaxing atmosphere.

Traditional, cozy and super comfy bed. Nice staff. Private Spa was available also for a fee although some of the beds were broken and jacuzzi didn’t get warm enough.

We had a great stay at Hotel Mitra and absolutely loved its charm. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and quiet, and the breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect, with the added bonus of free parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful — we can only recommend this hotel.

“The town and hotel are much better than celje.”
What a wonderful very relaxing hotel. Ptuj and the hotel were so full of character. Local restaurants were great and so we're some of the bars. Traffic in the old town was minimal . Walking around the lake was long but easy and took you to some delightful village and bars

“Nice place, but it could be better”
The hotel is in a historical building in the city center and common areas are very well kept. I particularly liked the small garden at 1st floor. Good wifi.

“Very pleasant and comfortable old town centre hotel”
Very characterful hotel in the main street of Ptuj old town. All staff very friendly and the room was good sized and bed comfortable, Breakfast also very good with items cooked to order on request.
