“Disappointing”

Booked and paid for a private room for one night. I arrived shortly after the agreed arrival window and was refused entry outright - staff said I should have come between 10:00 and 11:00. What makes it worse: their own confirmation email explicitly says guests may store luggage and use the common facilities while waiting, yet I was turned away completely and left on the street with all my bags in +30°C heat. Zero flexibility and a direct contradiction of their stated policy. Disappointing.

Hostel was okay, located near a tram stop with many food options nearby. The street has a few restaurants/bars nearby and a convenience store located right around the corner. I stayed in the six-person dorm, and the toilet and shower were separate. The sink was also outside the shower and toilet. The room was pretty spacious, with a wooden box under the bed for you to keep your items. Bring your own lock though, if you want it locked. But I think you might be able to get one from the counter (not sure if you have to pay or not).

It was also very convenient that we could leave our car in the parking lot. The only downsides were a couple of minor details: the electric kettle had rust inside, and there was only one towel provided per person. Other than that, everything was great!

One of the best parts of the hostel was the bar.

“Good for its price.”

Staff was friendly and help full. Reception offered me to help to carry my luggage downstairs to the luggage room. I also loved that there is a curtain covering at least part of the bed in the room. Nice neighbourhood around - easy to access, though a bit far from the city center - around 35 min with tram/bus. A lot of shops and cafes around.

The people in my dormitory were messy. Especially girls, they came drunk at night and put away their stuff all around the room.

Sir Toby’s is my favourite place to stay in Prague. The staff are super nice and everyone I met here was really lovely. I look forward to coming back in the future!

“Decent”

Property is in a good location. The pod room is quite nice. Basically a single bunk with a lockable door so you have your own mini room. Close to transport, nice little bar downstairs, and cool period building. The bathrooms were however, only acceptably clean if you get in there just after cleaning time. Also one bathroom for so many beds is just really not practical. That said, I appreciate that the property has limitations on what can be changed due to its age. Also the pods are not completely soundproof. I expected this personally but for other travellers, please be mindful other people can hear you. Dont be loud. Overall, it was a decent stay despite these minor things.

As usual, I came back to Sir Toby’s after a longer time, and as usual the ladies does an amazing job cleaning to make sure everything is spotless and there are no problems with anything. The hostel is great — there are lots of nice people from all around the world, and they have a garden with a grill and a bar area with board games, public computers, and a kitchen. Basically everything you could think of.

Receptionists Prem and Liz were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms and toilets were spotless and very well maintained. The common area was excellent too, it had everything needed, including a stove, refrigerator, and microwave, which made the stay much more comfortable. Overall, it was a really great experience, and I would definitely recommend this place.
