Fabulous location, beautiful hotel and Luis is such an attentive host

This place is a little oasis. Set in a charming little village amongst the Picos. It’s the perfect place to stay for a hiking retreat. The decor in the hotel was awesome and the very well thought through. Both comfortable and inspiring - the owners have put thought into everything. Rooms are spacious and very functional - with everything you need. Bathrooms high spec too! We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. I would rate both with 11/10 and encourage everyone staying at that hotel to indulge in both - you will not be disappointed! Fresh, home-made and delicious. We will definitely be back! We didn’t want to leave!

This was a beautiful place with a calm atmosphere and attentive service. The quality of the food was fabulous (optional light supper, and wonderful and generous breakfast). Mountain walks straight from the door or with short drives. Absolutely brilliant. We will return.

The whole hotel has been built and decorated with love and a personal, modern touch and offers everything to relax and getting away from everything. The breakfast with homemade bread and jams, and the selected snacks for dinner show the love for details, focusing in regional and seasonal foods. The garden with mountain view is great for winding down after a good hike. Lovely and very helpful hosts, who always took time to give good advice and suggestions for hiking and worthwhile sights in the area.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the Picos de Europa. Excellent location for the top end of the Ruta del Cares & the amazing Valdeon Picos visitor centre. Host was charming and the food simple but excellent Best room of our trip.

A nice little oasis in a quiet corner of Posada de Valdeón. Very kind hospitality. The hosts prepared small dished and tasty snacks from the very best ingredients (some grown in the hotel's garden). Strongly recommended for a peaceful stay! There is a nice quiet walk on a paved path down the little river.

location below mountains with lovely riverside garden. village is ideal for walking routes, and with 3-4 bars/cafe/ restaurants. Luis and his wife have built and now run excellent accommodation with fine food and drink and company.

“Fabulous refuge for hikers”

Amazing location and wonderful facilities at the property, including use of the garden, and a great selection of books and board games in the communal areas. The room was well presented and clean, and we had great views. Also a wonderful host and great breakfast available. The drive there was spectacular, and some fabulous mountain hiking to be done in the area!

The good was delicious! My girlfriend and I fell in love with the environment, it's so incredibly beautiful. The hotel is quiet and you feel like you are in your own living room with an excellent garden.

Beautifully clean and creatively decorated - this small hotel is like home from home! Luis and Fanie are warm and welcoming, eco conscious and offer amazing home made breakfasts and light suppers. Hotel Eigon was definitely a highlight during our recent trip to northern Spain.
