“Silvano the best host - fantastic location and rooms”

Silvano is an exceptional host - he arranged parking for our car and met us at the car park with his trolly to take our luggage to L’Ancora B&B, and helped us again when we left. The room was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, great shower and fantastic location. Breakfast was delivered to the room daily and was wonderful - Silvano makes sure you are well looked after and always a smile and happy to help. You would not find a better host or location - thank you Silvano

Great location with a superb view over the sea. A wonderful room with a view to have breakfast served in your room each day! Silvano is an amazing host and very helpful with luggage transfer and anything else you may need. The room is extremely clean and serviced daily.

Breakfast have nice fruit salads and croissants. I can see sunrise from our window and boats sailing out or coming back. We parked our car at a nearby Carpark and were picked up from there .

We booked a room WITH a view, it was perfect. Small room but had every little thing needed, neat and tidy, the best room we have had anywhere. The property is in town, no noise though, very close to everything you need. Silvio will meet you when parking at public parking and transport luggage right up to the room. There are 12 steps up but when you dont have to carry luggage then its nothing to worry about. Breakfast was great, served in the room, my husband even got decaffeinated coffee when he asked. Best breakfast we have had on our 4 week trip

Silvano. He is the most polite helpful person. He met me at car park, transported my bags to the hotel. He pointed out all the attractions, places of interest and recommended restaurants along the way. Brought breakfast to our room and checked we had a good night sleep. Assisting us again on departure to return our luggage to car. Beautiful room with view and sounds of the ocean

This was a sensational Bed and Breakfast but the best bit was definitely the breakfast set up at the window with beautiful views out over the water.

We spent 4 wonderful nights in Portovenere, where Silvano, our host, provided exceptional service from start to finish. He truly goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The place is spotless, with sea-view rooms and fantastic restaurants nearby that Silvano kindly recommended. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty, served conveniently in our room while we enjoyed the sea view. The room was tidied up daily in a way we’ve never experienced, even in 5-star hotels. He also reserved a parking spot just a short walk away and helped with our luggage using his handy cart. Portovenere is a romantic, charming town, and this accommodation is a true hidden gem. Silvano's hospitality exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommended!

“Great service, nice room, good location.”

Great service, nice room, on the 2nd night we were moved to a room with a sea view which was great. Breakfast served to the room which was nice. Location is good - with in the old town so very convenient for restaurants. If you want the free beach it is a long walk however.

Silvano was a lovely host, he was welcoming without being intrusive. The location was excellent, located conveniently at the walking street full of shops and restaurants; also a stone’s throw away from the port and main attractions like Chiesa di San Pietro, Grotta di Lord Byron. I could go on a boat trip and come back for shower and drop my things before continuing on my day! The room had lovely view of the port and Palmaria island. It was clean and well-equipped (air-conditioning, fridge, bathroom amenitites) beyond my expectations (Nespresso machine? Even my 4-star hotel in Milan did not have one 🤭) Breakfast was served in your room each morning and you can enjoy it in front of the lovely view. It was quiet at night despite its location in the main area.

It feels just like home: Friendly welcome from the owner, fresh flowers in the corridor, amazing breakfast, nice sea view, great location close to the port, access to the sea just downstairs, big Italian shower, even the decoration is chosen with care (colourful porcelains mimicking the village view). Everything is perfect.

Me and my partner loved our stay at L'ancora. The host was so welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious and spotless and was cleaned every day. Breakfast in bed each morning was superb. Fantastic location. Will definitely be back!
