I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful guesthouse, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely welcomed; the hospitality here is truly second to none. The hosts Maud and William go above and beyond to ensure you feel right at home, offering a level of warmth and genuine care that is rare to find. The cleanliness of the property is impeccable. Everything is spotless, well-maintained, and incredibly inviting. And then there is the breakfast. It was, without exaggeration, one of the highlights of my trip. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, with a fantastic variety of options that catered to every taste. It was the perfect way to start each day. If you are looking for a place where quality, comfort, and exceptional service meet, this is it. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

We spent three nights at B&B Soutelande with our family and (mother-in-law) and had such a wonderful time! The cottage is styled to perfection, everything is just right and you feel at home immediately. We loved how the branding is carried through in all the little details—it makes it feel so personal. The breakfasts every morning were delicious. It was also a huge hit with our son: the little bags of feed for the donkeys, birds, and chickens were a great touch! When the weather got a bit chilly, they brought us a heater right away, so we truly had everything we needed. Being able to order dinner in the evening is a big plus, it was lovely. We are really impressed by the care and hospitality from Maud and William. We felt so welcome and would love to come back again!"

“Lovely country house”

We stayed for only one day in this wonderful country house and were really sorry to leave so fast. The place is just amazing: very comfortable, clean, safe and close to the best beach in the area (Sardinia Bay). There is also a small pool for kids to entertain and nice donkeys, horse and dogs to play with. The breakfast was very tasty: scrambled eggs, yogurt, thresh bread, butter, muffins, cheese and fruits. Thank you, Moad, for our wonderful stay!

Our stay at Maud and William's cottage was definitely a highlight of our trip through South Africa. Their warmth and the incredibly cozy furnishings and atmosphere in and around the cottage were remarkable. It is no empty phrase when we say that we felt at home. If you are looking for a quiet retreat near the beach and in the countryside near Gqeberha, then this is the place for you. A clear 10/10

“Extraordinary stay in Soutelande Country Stay”

The stay was the best one we had during our 3-months travelling through ZA. The breakfast was tasty and was brought to the house early; including some extra bags with food for the donkeys and chicken, what our kids really loved. The whole cottage was very clean, we got fresh towels regularly and the pool was cleaned every morning. We all were sad to leave. What made our stay so extraordinary were the friendliest hosts ever. Once travelling again to South Africa, we woukld love to come back to Maud´s and William´s cottage.

The cottage was clean, comfortable beds, equipped kitchen, beautiful quiet farm setting and the very best was the absolutely wonderfully prepared breakfasts delivered to the door in the mornings. What a treat. Thank you for the care in preparing these beautiful breakfasts.

Excellent. They gave us such a great welcome, even guided us back home from the airport and we’re just the perfect start for our trip in South Africa. Also the breakfast and dinner was delicious and made with love. We can absolutely recommend staying at souteland guesthouse.

“Perfect getaway with fantastic hosts”

Maud and William are amazing hosts - they were warm, welcoming, and provided plenty of useful advice for our trip. There was actually an IronMan on when we were there so lots of road closures, so they went above and beyond to meet us at the airport and make sure we got to the accommodation smoothly. The cottage is perfect - very clean, tastefully decorated, all the amenities you’d need, lovely gardens, and a private small pool. You have plenty of privacy but can also contact Maud & William very easily for any questions. It is a 5 minute drive away from Sardinia Bay Beach which has gorgeous sand dunes. We had a homemade bobotie in the garden for dinner, which was delicious and very well priced. The breakfast basket was also great and nice to enjoy with a coffee on the decking. It was a fantastic stay and we would highly recommend!
