“A delightful, comfortable and pretty place with everything one needs for a self-catering stay.”

This is delightful, well stocked and well situated. The host provides tea, coffee, the most scrumptious biscuits (I ate every one), also cooking oil and vinegar, salt and pepper and even chocolates at the bedside. This must be the most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in away from home. The host was so friendly and kind when I stupidly lost the keys and needed her assistance rather urgently. She found them and was ready and waiting when I returned after a busy day. I would definitely book this anytime I go to Port Elizabeth again.

Can thoroughly recommend this apartment. The kitchen is really well provided and even has really handy touches of herbs, spices, oil, vinegar etc which is great when you are travelling and self catering. Lovely little flapjacks too to welcome you. Very warm welcome from the host and lots of recommendations for local eateries. The area felt very safe and plenty of shops/cafes/restaurants in easy walking distance. Lovely to have nets around the bed - although it wasn’t a problem when we were there, it was nice to feel well protected against any little biting things that may be about.

Large kitchen and seating area, separate from the bedroom. A washing machine was a bonus. Host was very nice and knowledgeable. Walking distance to quite a few nice restaurants. Felt safe and car was parked behind the gate.

The accommodation is spacious & very well situated. I can recommend it, for sure.

The property is in a quiet street and within walking distance of restaurants and coffee shops. It is very well equipped and has a lovely sunny outside seating area with Weber barbecue. The beds are comfortable, good quality linen and lovely bathroom. I can highly recommend this little gem.

Modern and clean. Well equipped kitchen. Fantastic bed king size. Full tray of spices. So quiet.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Downstairs @38. It was our second visit, and we opted to extend our stay compared to our previous trip. The atmosphere is consistently wonderful. We certainly plan to return in the future.

This is a very lovely private place. I enjoyed my stay and definitely will sleep here again.

My partner and I really loved the space. It was extremely clean, quiet and the lady who came to give us the key was really kind. It was a bit chilly but they also had a gas heater which was amazing. I can't find faults at all. I wish we had stayed longer.
