“Misleading description”

I’m afraid the apartment didn’t live up to expectations. To say it has a city view is misleading – a view of two dress shops and an estate agent isn’t much of a city view! And the sea view may be available from the second floor, but all you can see from the first floor is roofs of buildings. The balcony was only enough for two of us to stand on – no room to sit and enjoy the “view”. There are no comfortable seats to sit on. There is only one bedside table – for a double bed! The pillows are so soft that they might as well not be there. A lot of the photos on Booking.com aren’t of the first floor apartment so give a false impression. We were prepared to put up with it until we got back on the second evening and were surprised to find the front door open and a suspicious looking young man in the entrance hall. We discovered that he was waiting for guests for the top apartment who we heard arriving later and then going out. We were woken at midnight by them coming back. The sound insulation in the building is non-existent which makes it totally unsuitable for letting as two separate apartments. The cost of the apartment is misleading – we expected something a lot better for €90 a night. We decided we’d had enough and booked a room for our last night in Pornic at the new Westhotel with a proper balcony, comfortable seats and pillows, a car park and a lift for only €100.

Beautiful appartement, well equipped. Perfectly located with harbour view. Everything was perfectly clean and tidy. Very responsive and friendly host. I will definitely book again. To note: The appartement is up 2 flights of stairs. Not a problem for my friend and I, but be aware if you have any physical difficulties. There are 2 bedrooms, one of which is also up some stairs. Apart from the toilet, there are no doors in the apartment but the bedrooms are positioned discreetly so you can't see them from the communal kitchen area. The shower room is off of the main bedroom with no door. Again, perfect for us, or with a partner but useful to note if you prefer more privacy. We absolutely loved the apartment, it was very spacious compared to staying in a hotel for a similar price. It was nice to get up, have breakfast and enjoy the view before going out to explore. Highly recommend.
