Greetings! We stayed here as a couple and absolutely loved it! This is the kind of place where you come not just to spend the night, but to experience true Seychelles comfort and care. Believe us, we have something to compare it to; we've since rented three more different accommodations and haven't found such comfortable conditions anywhere else 🤗 Ocean Bird & Wanita's Self Catering is a very warm, well-maintained, and welcoming guesthouse. Everything is clean, neat, and thoughtfully designed, and you can tell the owners treat their home with love and care for their guests. The rooms are comfortable, equipped with everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and the atmosphere is truly homey. Most importantly, the entire two-story house is yours to use, and the second floor offers a stunning view of the ocean. Next to the house, in a magnificent garden, lives a real turtle and grows delicious mangoes, which the kind hostess always treated us to. The hotel's location is very convenient. A shop and a bus stop are a three-minute walk away. You can take the bus just one stop and find yourself at Ance Ferryland Beach, a beautiful and swimmable beach. The hotel itself is located in the southern part of the island. It's less noisy, and the most popular beaches are a short walk away. I'd like to extend a special thank you to the hostess, Wanita. She's incredibly kind, open, and welcoming! From the moment you arrive, you feel like a welcome guest, not a tourist. She's always ready to help, offer advice, recommend the best beaches, cafes, and routes, help you rent a car, and organize excursions, all with sincerity, warmth, and a smile. It's people like this that make a vacation truly unforgettable. If you're looking for a place with soul, tranquility, comfort, and true Seychellois hospitality, Ocean Bird & Wanita's Self Catering is definitely worth your attention.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Wanita’s Guesthouse! The house is lovingly decorated and very cozy, which made us feel at home right away. Wanita is an exceptionally attentive and kind host, always ready to help and share great tips for exploring the area – the excursion to Curieuse was a real highlight. The location is perfect as well, very convenient for discovering the island. We felt completely comfortable and well taken care of, and we would love to come back on our next visit. “Gem in Pointe Au Sel”

We had an entire villa to ourselves — spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we could possibly need (a fully equipped kitchen, coffee machine, washing machine, beach towels). It also came with private parking and sunbeds on the terrace. The location is perfect: Anse Royale beach and the Takamaka Rum Factory is only a 5-minute drive away. Wanita and her wonderful family are the kind of hosts that make your trip truly special — warm, welcoming, and always ready with tips, assistance, and local recommendations. She can even help you arrange car rentals and book amazing island excursions through their own company. This place is the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and authentic island hospitality — and for the value you get, it’s an absolute gem.

Beautiful location with sea view, loved the wildlife which was all around. Wanita was a pleasure and the chalet was perfect for us.

The accommodation was elaborately decorated and fully equipped. There were also areas outside to relax and eat. The attic was very beautiful with an amazing view. We were provided with extra facilities like shaving and dental kits and the kitchen had everything. Wanita was willing to help and even brought us some fresh fruit! Plus the location was ideal as there were many buses passing by and there was a supermarket right outside the property.

I recommend this place as you have house all for yourself. It is really quiet with gorgeous views right from the bed nor shower. It has free parking, right under there are groceries. Everywhere you go it takes maximum 45 minutes by car without traffic jams, kitchen was fully equipted, we were able to cook a lot. There is air-conditioning and sunbeds on the lower floor and upper as well. Wanita was a great host, she gave us many advice to what to see and do. If you are in Mahe you definitely should come here.

I do not know where to start... We travel a lot, but this kind of hospitality was one of a kind. Wanita is amasing. You have all privacy you need, cause all accomodation is just for you, but if you need anything Wanita is always on your service. It is a very secure property, with a beatuful garden with native fruits. You have outside shower as well and enough chairs on the porch and balcony as well from where you can enjoy in a seaview and sun rises. Bus stops and supermarket is just a few steps away. Wanita arranges a welcome drinks and basket full of fruits. Also, she allowed an early check in and late check out according to our flights. Bedroom is even nicer than on photo where you have the most comfortable bed with lot of details like beach towels. Everything was super clean. Wifi is more than great. You can arrange numerious excursions for very reasonable prices with Wanita as she has her own company. Wanita thank you for everything and we will surely recomend this place to our friends.

The place was immaculately clean, making us feel comfortable and at home from the moment we arrived. “Loved it!”

The bedroom is so pretty! Comfortable bed. Nice balcony. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning. The house has everything you need. Cross the road and you are on the beach. Take away closeby. Little supermarket next door. Busstop really close. A 15-20 min walk to the takamaka distillery. Pretty garden. Its all just like the pictures. Nice people all around and a lovely host! “PARADISE”

In this particular case house pictures cannot properly render reality, we could not believe that little paradise in this paradisiacal island could be ours. Wanita is the perfect host, she left us bananas, young cocos and water at our arrival and is the only host out of three that we had in Seychelles who provided amenities. She was always available and gave us good directions in regard to beaches, activities and eating. She and her beautiful house rounded our perfect stay.

The beautiful and rather quiet beach (just one small hotel and a couple of local people) is just opposite the property. The apartment had everything we needed. It was very clean and tidy and we felt safe all the time. Moreover, it was bigger than expected and very quiet as there are no other apartments in the house. The start of our vacation couldn't have been better.

Best place for a couple, all facilities including washing machine and iron, barbecue, some nice beaches near, shop, market. They have also a nice garden and 2 turtles. Thanks for the starter pack.

“Great house with everything around for a nice vacation”

The house is located close to a beach. Lots of facilities are close by, down the road is a little shop to buy food and it is well provisioned. There are a few more along the road at walking distance. There is also the Takamaka distillery that you can visit and in the area you have a local fruit and vegetable vendor. The bus stop is also very close by, you can go to Anse Royale in 10 minutes to go snorkeling at a beautiful beach or go and eat at a restaurant there. Wanita is very helpful if you are looking for advices, she can also help you organise a boat trip.

“Comfort, beauty, uniqueness and security all in one!”

My wife and I choose the property because it was close to the airport. We loved that there was a gated entrance that we could open and close remotely and automatically. There is only one unit on the property and it has its own parking space in front of the unit. A large supermarket is located outside of the gate and down the road a very short walk. It carries everything you could want including bread and pastries from a local bakery. They had a great Takamaka rum selection including the 8 year aged dark rum. The distillery is close by if you want to do a tour and tasting. I think what really set this Self Catering unit apart from all of the others is the owner and the personal touches inside of the unit. We stayed at several Self Catering units before this one and this one had so many personal touches that made the stay special to us. Very clean and a great island feel including a Coco De Mer as part of the decorations to enjoy. The owner was waiting when we arrived and showed us around the unit. She was always available for directions and hints on things to do. Another big plus on this rental is the washing machine in the unit. My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the upstairs outside balcony in the evening and watching dozens on the islands fruit bats travel by. Some even stopped in the mango trees very close to the balcony. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit the Seychelles.
