“Unforgettable and totally worth the travel - fantastic hosts and set-up”

Amazing people, Magarinda an incredibly welcoming host and cooked the most amazing food. Such a fab location, super remote Guides are all local which we loved (but don’t speak English)

We had an unforgettable stay on the Barco Casso in the Pantanal. Our wonderful host, Margarita, cooked incredibly delicious meals, every day felt special. The captains were attentive, everything was organized to the highest standard, and we saw many jaguars even in November. A perfect experience from start to finish. Highly recommended! There is a transfer of 3 hrs by river from Porto Cercado to the Barco and back for extra cost, but it's an additional excursion.

“Unique, immersive experience of the Pantanal”

So many things! Most of all I loved waking up to the singing of a thousand birds and the distant haunting roar of the howler monkeys every morning. The amazing guiding skills of Alessandro at the time was second to none. I had a beautifully, exclusive day out looking for jaguars with huge success. And then of course the hosts, Francisco and Margarita, and the property itself. If you define luxury as a unique and immersive experience, this is it. While the accommodations are basic, the cleanliness, attention to detail and immense hospitality in every effort to make you comfortable and happy, is something you won't find anywhere else. More food than you can ever imagine, privacy when you need it, and then their effort to make sure you see every interesting animal or bird that shows up on any corner of their farm. I cannot wait to go again.

“Perfect base for wildlife watching in the Pantanal”

This was a great place to base ourselves to see the amazing wildlife of the Pantanal. We saw everything we could have hoped to and more; jaguar, hyacinth macaws, capybara, caiman, dear, giant otters, and an unbelievable number of birds. All the time we were fantastically looked after by Francisco, Margarida, Alessandro and their team. The houseboat is cozy but has everything you need. Margarida’s food is plentiful and delicious. We loved the urn of caipirinha that she presented us with every evening - and the beautiful settings for meals. It’s a leap of faith deciding to stay somewhere you don’t know on the side of a river, but all four members of our family loved it. You can correspond with Francisco in advance about arrangements and prices for transfer from Cuiaba/Pocone (40 minutes drive from Pocone to Port Cercado and circa 2.5 hours fast boat to the Houseboat), and about the day tours along the river when you're there. One final tip - bring plenty of warm layers for the speedboat trips - it can get very chilly depending on the weather.

To sleep in the boat in the middle of the Pantanal was amazing. We loved this place and we can recommend it. You MUST stay here more than 3 days to see everything - birds, snakes, jaguars and yes - people - and special thanks to Margarita who is excellent cooker and we had the best breakfasts and dinners there (Caipirinhas ♥♥♥) and to Adilio too because he is the best guid, he knows a lot of about nature and he is able to find Jaguars when it is not possible (April 20%) many thanks!!!

“Royal treatment”

Margarida and Francisco are great human beings, very sweet and welcoming. Margarida treated me like a king with incredible food and caipirinha. Francisco's love for nature is contagious, he taught me so much!! It's impressive how this boat is equipped! They have everything you need, super fast wifi, all kind of food, all this on a (large) boat in the middle of the Pantanal.

The location is amazing and in the middle of Pantanal. The hospitality was special and in the Boat-House all was very clean. Francisco was a very good guide Maragarita an excellent chef.

We loved staying here. We were Immersed into Francisco and Margaridas world. They usually have only 2 to 6 guests so it's just you joining their world. Fly into Cuiaba airport, hire a car or arrange a lift to a hotel in Pocone and stay overnight. Then drive to Porto Cansada where you will be picked up in Francisco's super comfortable speed boat. You then go 70kms up river to the stationary houseboat. Bring a jacket as it can be hot and cold on the speedboat. From the houseboat, you do any number of different speed boat trips with nature experts. Some appear expensive but this is the best value Pantanal adventure period. Margaridas food is always excellent. Great for families and couples. Starlink wifi 120mbps, pay with cards or Wise in seconds. Catch piranha off the boat, see Jaguars ( as we did ), iguana, capybara, giant otters from the speedboat with no-one around. It's magical. They are very interesting people with rich histories. Go and join their world as a first priority in the Pantanal.
