Overview
In the centre of Pilsen, just beside the Cathedral of Saint Bartholomew, Hotel U Salzmannů features en-suite accommodations and a restaurant serving Czech cuisine. “Characterful hotel in fabulous location- slept very badly.”
Great location in Old Town near to bars and restaurants. Very clean, characterful with decent breakfast included. Bottled water provided on arrival which was a nice touch.

“Excellent traditional hotel”
It is the oldest restaurant in Plzn. Proud on their traditional excellent Pilsner beer from unpasteurized tanks. Quality is continuously monitored. Very busy on Friday evenings

Location is superb. Our room was spacious with an artistic picture of the Plzner Prazdroj factory --- just what we have arrived for :-) U Salzmannu is the oldest pub in the town offering the speciality: "tankowy pivo". This is a big beertank which has been refilled by a hose from a lorry. Worth trying. The kitchen is also recommended, with a terrace behind the building. It seemed that locals arrive in huge numbers as well. The breakfast was okay, although the coffee could be better, but price-quality-wise it is above average. The beds, linen were okay as well as the cleannes of the place (no one knows why but two of 8 towels were arbitrarily change during our stay). I recommend this place and Pilsen as a tourist attraction and not only for beer lovers.
