Everything. The beachfront location, the free surfboard hire. The state of the art gym, the food.

The location is awesome, far from the tourist traps but close enough to some awesome small towns that have great restaurants. All of the amenities were great, the gym is one of the better equipped I have seen in any hotel. Staff were attentive and friendly, can't fault their service. And the food was excellent.

Very family friendly and clean

The staff was very nice. We went there as part of our honeymoon and they had decorated the room and left us a nice fruit bowl and chocolate strawberries. That was a very sweet gesture. Also throughout our stay the staff were very nice in general. We also liked the gym a lot, it was very well prepared.

Location is spectacular. Watching the sun set over the Pacific bathed in deep orange hues, is breathtaking and peaceful. Staff are, well…Costa Rican in their hospitality. Which is to say, amazingly friendly, professional and attentive. Very clean all the time and everywhere in the facilities. It also has more facilities than guests, so you always have somewhere to find some peace and alone time should you wish to. Highly recommended.

Much of the hotel has a good aesthetic; the common areas are very useful for resting and even sleeping, the pool is designed for adults enjoyment, we liked it a lot. Our room had an excellent beach front location and the external bathroom was an additional pleasure... Excellent amenities! From one of the best Costa Rican brands. The detail of having a beautiful basket with pool towels is a plus. They had the courtesy to decorate the room in celebration of my partner's birthday. In the restaurant, the breakfasts are very tasty as well as dinners, they were very worthwhile, in addition Gillary and Yosseline were very attentive and kind.

The view, the rooms, the staff, the yoga, were all wonderful.

Hotel Azul is definitely worth the trip to Playa Azul for its excellet amenities and gastronomy. To make the experience even better, we visited Playa San Juanillo featuring two calm bays separated by a narrow strip of sand. The crystal-clear waters and serene ambiance make it a perfect spot for swimming and snorkeling.

I enjoyed every meal. The staff was very accommodating when I asked for small changes based on my diet and preferences. The hotel occupation was low and that allowed the staff to be extra attentive and obliging. Everyone was in a great mood, considering the region had been impacted by major weather events over the two weeks prior to my stay. They recommended local activities, such as volunteering to protect the olive ridley sea turtles that were hatching in Ostional, and tour options nearby. I did go to Ostional and highly recommend the experience.
